Best

The atmosphere is great and the food was plenitful and delicious! Well worth the money! Even the seafood wasn't outrageoulsy expensive like at most nicer-dining places like here.

Worst

My husband & were seated promptly and our orders were taken quickly. Like all the other people said a salad and bread rolls were brought to the table. The salad wasn't very big (&...

Food never Disappoints...Great Atmosphere 5/16/2012

I've loved this restaurant for over 30 years! The food is fantastic...service is hit or miss depending on the wait staff sometimes unfortunately. Garlic dinner rolls are addictive. more

Great taste for a great price! 1/19/2010

I have always said that a great Italian restaurant can be based on the quality of their Alfredo sauce. If you agree then you find they are top notch. I haven't had anything there that I didn't love. Their prices are very reasonable and recommend Scalini's to anyone who loves Italian food. Pros: Great flavors, service, and atmosphere. more

Yummy! 10/19/2009

The atmosphere is great and the food was plenitful and delicious! Well worth the money! Even the seafood wasn't outrageoulsy expensive like at most nicer-dining places like here. Pros: Lots of food, amazing bread and salad! more

Love it 3/19/2009

Great place. Been going for years. Great garlic rolls. You can do a lot worse than Scalinis. Try it and it will get on your FAv list more

If you like real Italian food, prepare to be disappointed.... 7/21/2008

Ever had really great lasagna? You know the kind: several layers of pasta with cheese, Italian sausage, rich meat sauce and more cheese? Well you won't find it here. Expect ground hamburger, poorly seasoned sauce, skimpy cheese and only the bare minimum pasta. The salad was OK but again only the bare minimum. Their garlic rolls are golfball sized bread puffs drenched with garlic infused oil. No doubt this method saves the kitchen preparation time. You only wish they had used that time more effectively preparing other parts of the meal. more

Great Meal! 4/25/2008

Ive never had a bad meal here. The salad and rolls are the best!! I got them for a double whammie and went on my birthday (got my meal free) and got there before 6:30 so my guests dinner was only 9.95. Always great service too. Highly recommended. Pros: Great food/Service more

Not a good experience! 12/28/2007

My husband & were seated promptly and our orders were taken quickly. Like all the other people said a salad and bread rolls were brought to the table. The salad wasn't very big (& I'm not a big eater!) but was fine & the bread rolls were very garlicky & rustic they were good to me, but my husband had to keep pulling bits of garlic skin out of his mouth! Pros: Seated quickly, orders taken promptly and glass always full Cons: Small portions, food was below par and we experienced bad service more

I wanted to lick my plate!!! 7/23/2007

Went to this restaurant just because I was given a gift certificate.... Oh my god! I dont even know what I ordered--- some sort of lemon chicken--- but it was the best meal i've had in ages. Scalini's is located in the shopping plaza next to Best Buy, and honestly i never thought a restaurant there would be any good, but the food really is to die for!! Just like the other reviews have said, the garlic rolls, and the salad were delicious, and would have filled me up plenty, but the chicken was amazing as well.... yum!! I cant wait to go back so i can try some of the italian pastries that looked so good.... Pros: Really good food. Great portions. Cons: before i ate the food i would say plate price, but it's worth it!! more

The best Italian food in Atlanta, Prompt friendly service 3/26/2007

Scalinis has the best italian food. The salad is wonderful and the garlic rolls are the best. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great and very versatile. They have booths great for couples out for a romantic evening. Scalinis also has rooms great for company parties and family gatherings. I have eaten there many times, both on dates and with large groups. Every time the service and food has been great. I higly recommend scalinis to anyone. Pros: Great Food, Service, Prompt Seating more

Delicious Italian food next to Best Buy 2/5/2007

I've often came to this restaurant, garlic bread is mmmmm good. The service is prompt and the food is great, only thing is pasta... not freshly cooked, it's very soggy... If you can, try all the deserts it's delicious. Pros: Garlic bread and desserts are mmmmmm good Cons: Soggy Pasta more

Best Italian Food Outside of NYC 1/7/2007

Scalini's reminds me of the Italian restaurants in Little Italy, New York. It's a bold statement considering that Little Italy has some of the best restaurants in the country but Scalini's definitely compares. The food is great. I have always been seated quickly - even on a Friday and Saturday night. The staff is great. Pros: Great food, inexpensive, private booths in one area Cons: The area that contains the open tables can feel cramped more

Best Italian in ATL!! 12/27/2006

This place makes the Olive Garden seem like the Olive PIT! GARLIC ROLLS are fantastic!!! Food is wonderful....I read other complaints on the Garlic....If you don't like Garlic, first, don't eat real italian food. Go to Pizza Hut!!! THIS IS GREAT! Service Good. Pros: ROLLS, SALAD, Entree's Cons: wait, but worth it!! more

Italian the way you want it 4/27/2006

Scallini's is one of the few homestyle Italian places left. Their garlic rolls are amazing and the main dishes are affordable and fulfilling. If there is a wait, you will still get seated pretty quickly. If you are an eggplant fan, it is simply divine. Pros: Afforable, Good parking, easy location more

A little feel of Italy 4/22/2006

Great food, great desserts! One of the few authentic Italian places left. Has a romantic ambiance but kid friendly too. The garlic rolls are wonderful but stay away if you are not a garlic fan. Great food for a great price! Pros: Inexpensive, good parking more

My favorite little Italian joint. 2/13/2006

I recently moved to the West side of town and was pleased to find an authentic Italian place. The portions are incredible. Salad, garlic rolls with TONS of garlic and an entree that feeds me for two meals. If garlic isn't you're thing, make sure to mention it to your server as noted in the other reviews. It's a bit too family-friendly for my taste, so request a booth for a little privacy. It's worth the wait. The service hasn't been consistent, but I find that's pretty much how most ATL restaurants are run. Definitely check it out if you're looking for something different in the area. Pros: Food, Price Cons: Too many kids, No music more

OK if you're in the area 1/18/2006

I have been here several times and have had different experiences. The food is usually pretty good and the portions are large. I'm a fan of the dinner rolls since I love garlic. The service is ok. They seen to have an issue with removing empty drink glasses. Everytime I have gone lately the servers let the glasses pile up on the table. If you're looking for something better than the Olive Garden this is the place for you. Pros: easy parking, large portions Cons: slow service, not consistant more

Not bad for the money 7/13/2004

I had Chicken Marsala and fettucine alfredo. Both were pretty good. Portion sizes are very good. My companions had salad and lasagna and really enjoyed it. The bread is good, although there was a bit too much garlic on the bread for my taste. If you are not a big lover of garlic, ask them to go easy on the garlic. This place offers good value for the money. Pros: Good parking, Portion sizes, Baby Pictures more

Is Age Showing for Scalini's 5/21/2004

We have been patronizing the Scalini's Italian Restaurant since it opened many years ago. As much as we think it is better than Olive Garden across the street (on Cobb Parkway) our latest visit was a disappointment. The food was bland and the portions were small....and the prices have gone up alomst $2.00 per entree since we last visited. We had to ask several times for beverage ice or refill....including water. However, the most disturbing element of our visit was the server not returning with change from our cash payment of the checque. Is this standard practice now? Even though we left a tip for the server, we are not pleased that it was assumed that any change under a $1.00 was theirs to keep. We think that this establishment is holding on, but it is not as good as we remember. Too bad. Pros: Location, Food Passable, Ambiance Cons: , Prices increased, Food Passable more
