I hate going to a new restaurant and ordering something that sounds great; and disappointed when the food arrives. That's not the case with Saputo's. I always order their baked la...

A friend recommended the restaurant to me, and maybe I was just expecting too much...but the service was poor and the food wasn't anything special either. I came with a large gro...

Family-owned and traditional style service. Food (I had spaghetti and he had ravoli) was excellent and served with a smile. Only complaint was that we were ready for dinner at 4 p.m. but restaurant didn't open until 5 p.m. It was worth the wait! more

Excellent Italian food, Would recommend making a reservation. We waited almost an hour but it was worth it. Had the baked ravioli..comes with bread and salad. Tried the tiramisu for dessert..also very good. more

I love Italian food, so this place was a homerun for me! The breaded steak was to die for and the homemade Italian dressing was awesome. Mike was super nice when he greeted us and set us at a cozy table. more

My friend and I came in to celebrate her birthday, our server Casey was amazing! She helped me sneak out back to my car to surprise my friend with a birthday cake. Our dinner was so delicious and the customer serivce was outstanding. more

Saputos is old school, supper club type Italian food. I have been coming here for decades and the food, while not fancy, is consistently great. The service is top notch with several waitresses that have worked there for years. I like the baked Rigatoni with meatballs. Also, their Saputos antipasto plate is a great start to a meal. I enjoy the Italian dishes, but what really sets the place apart are their steaks. I almost always now get an Italian breaded filet mignon. The beef is locally butchered, never frozen and superbly cooked. Whatever size the cut is listed at, it's always a couple ounces larger. It's not inexpensive for Springfield, but it's about 2/3 the price of a top Chicago steakhouse. I have rarely had a better steak. Enjoy! more

My family came in on a busy Friday night ( kids and all) with no reservation. We were immediately greeted and had a table in no time. The service was awesome and the food was even better. We will be back! more

Went upon a recommendation for our anniversary. Lots of history here. Homemade Italian and we could tell why it had been around so long. Friendly staff, quick service, awesome prices, even better food. We had homemade chips, fettucine, spaghetti with meatballs, salad, bread, and cheesecake and a cannoli for dinner. Italian salad dressing was my fav!!! more

I have never eaten better Italian food anywhere, and I travel a lot! Any time I'm in Springfield, I try to make a point of eating there. Reservations are recommended, as it is a popular local eatery! more

Great classic Italian food. If you like a great meal with the traditional dishes this is the best around. I'm from outside Chicago and an Italian. So trust me it makes my top 5 for Italian I've ever had. Just as good as my grandma used to make. more

Get the chicken and peppers for dinner it's amazing. I have been several times. They are now offer gluten-free pasta which is a good option. The bread is to die for. You need to know what you're getting into though. Don't expect a fancy big to do. It is an old family-style restaurant. It's nice for Springfield. But you have to remember that it's not a big city more

Love an old feel restaurant. One of the few open on a late Monday night. Service was fine and food too but that adds to the charm. Full bar real Italian feel and politicians in the room. It felt like the Godfather. Love it more

You either love the red sauce, or you don't. I love it. The Italian Sausage is the best ever. The cheese is very tasteful. Very good Chardonnay. Sometimes the servers may initially appear curt, but if you converse with them they quickly warm up to you. more

We were totally clueless on where to get a good dinner in Springfield, so we tried Saputo. It was a great choice. The Italian house dressing was awesome and the lasagne was super cheesy! I got a full meal but only ate half because the servings are big. The only negative was that the tables were pretty close together, so be prepared to get to know your neighbors if someone sits nearby!\r more

5 stars, Saputo's has the best Italian salad dressing I have ever had in my life and their pizza is to die for. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. more
