Santa Monica Beach is a great way to spend a day. Check out the 100 year old Santa Monica Pier with a carousel, giant Ferris wheel and game shops. You can explore by renting bikes, roller skates or just get the toy bucket and head to the beach. more

Historic and fun 9/26/2005

The carousel is quite beautiful to look at, it is also quite historic. I enjoy looking at all the beautiful old photos they have on display. Kids love it and it is not very expensive – so you can let them ride a couple of times as a treat. They also do parties. more

Carousel Ride 9/25/2005

I have taken my daughter a couple of time to the Santa Monica Pier Carousel a few years ago and she loved riding the different horses on the carousel. The ride is inexpensive too, it just cost $1 to ride so I let my daughter ride 3 to 4 times until she got bored of it. It's an inexpensive way for kids to have fun especially if you live close by. more

The carousel at Santa Monica Pier is pretty big--you can get a group of your friends and ride it together if you wanted. And its only a buck for each person, so not too shabby. They also offer reservations for birthday/other parties for children. It's a great place to take the kids. more
