Very friendly service from Frank 4/13/2011

Recent visit to SM BMW for 1st service on 540ia and to fix alarm intermitent problem as well as an interiior panel part that broke. Very friendly service from Frank, adn they called me to say the car was done. To my surprise, they found and fixed the alarm prob. Car was cleaned. No costs. I was very pleased with the experience. My coworker uses them quite a bit and has been pleased also. Years ago I used this dealer for service on my E36 M3's and was not so impressed. MUCH better than Bob Smith BMW. more

Very proud owner of a 528i 4/12/2011

This review is for the Certified pre-owned office of this dealership. I was initially skeptical about making a purchase here due to the reviews, but they had the best vehicle within a 500 mile radius when I did a search on bmwusa. Worked with Mario over several emails since I live in AZ. He was very prompt in responding to all my emails. He even sent the service history of the vehicle and gave me a good price. This is a no-haggle, no nonsense place and is evident when you actually work with Mario. I flew into LAX and arrived at their office at 10:30AM. Mario took me out for a testdrive and explained everything about the car. He was very proactive in calling up all the necessary folks to get my paperwork going ASAP. Deigo detailed my car and we got the financing taken care of by Henry. By 12:30 they sent me on my way with a tank of gas. I am now a very proud owner of a 528i and look forward to buying from them again. more

It was a most enjoyable process 4/11/2011

I recently bought a 335d with Lorelei Llee, and I would like to report that it was a most enjoyable process. Even though i sent Ms. Llee on several color/order tangents, she remained enthusiastic, patient, and worked diligently to help me in every way she could. Sadly, these days it's not often I can write a note like this, so it sure is a pleasure when i can. Many happy returns in the new Year more

Just the right amount of nudge 3/4/2011

I leased a car from your dealership today thanks to Carmen. Had to mention what a pleasure it was working with Carmen. She was not over the top like the other dealership salespeople. She was just the right amount of nudge in a non-annoying fashion. She looked great - stylish and professional and always appeared calm while getting the job done. She was knowledgeable about the product line and always accessible. I will definitely refer prospective buyers to Carmen. Also loved Lance! Thanks for a great experience! more

Lorelei is truly the best salesperson 2/23/2011

Lorelei is truly the best salesperson I have ever come into contact with. I specifically bought a BMW because of her excelent work. She did not push, prod or cajole me into buying a car. She was just a normal person! It sounds crazy, but that is all we want when trying to buy a car! I had come off some terrible sales situations at Lexus and Audi, and althought, I truly preferred the Audi to the BMW, I bought this car because of Lorelei LLee. She could sell ice to and eskimo, because she is not "trying". she believes in her product, and she makes you believe too. The ultimate salesperson...seriously. I never knew her before I stepped onto that lot, and now, I am just in awe of her. She is honest and a salesperson. I didn't think those kind of people existed anymore. more

SM BMW can keep up this high level of service 2/23/2011

Yes, that's right. 5 Stars. I see that I'm in the minority on Yelp, but I'm sticking to my guns. I doubt I do anything differently than these un-satisfied customers. From what I have experienced, the service people are honest and prompt. Alicia, particularly, is focused, fast, and confident; she knows how to get things done at this place. When I take my car in for service, I have always looked for Alicia to help me, and I am never let down. If you can make a reservation a week in advance, you can actually get a loaner car. They only have 30 or so loaners, and they are in demand, so don't expect to get one if you don't make a reservation for one. It's actually kind of fun hanging out at the service desk during the car's intake. The place is hopping in the morning. And, the older well-healed, Intelligentsia crowd make for good people watching. SM BMW is still family owned, unlike the spoilage of other dealerships by corporations. I hope SM BMW can keep up this high level of service, because it doesn't look like they're going anywhere. more

This is my seventh lease with BMW and this has been by far ---light years ahead --- the best and most memorable experience. Lorelei is at the top of her game - her knowledge, professionalism and positive energy is in a league of its own. She will handle all my BMW needs going forward regardless where we reside. Far more friendly 12/29/2010

After three BMW's, I find that the staff at Santa Monica BMW is far more friendly and helpful than Southbay BMW, Beverly Hills BMW, Nick Alexendar BMW, Center BMW, and Pacific BMW, all of which I have been to and will not go to again unless I absolutely have to. more

Very straighforward 12/21/2010

I think Sven Larsen is a real assset to Santa Monica BMW. I also think that Jason Schimmel has a bright future with the dealership. He treats his customer with respect and is very professional in his dealings with customer. I was very impressed by the professionalism and behavior of both the CPO manager Sven Larsen and my sales person Jason Schimmel. Both of these gentlemen were very straighforward and decent. There was no excessive haggling and they went out of their ways to make the whole buying experience as smooth as possible. more

Quite extraordinary 12/17/2010

Our sales person (I'm sorry I can't think of his name, perhaps it was Malcom?) was quite wonderful. He was attentive to me and my young adult son with the right amount of concern for both our needs. He gave my son his direct cell phone number and told him to call anytime of day or night if he needed anything, quite extraordinary! more
