Last night, my husband and I had an incredibly romantic, Valentine's dinner at Salvi Restaurant. From the beginning to the end, our senses were delighted. It began with the fantastic ambiance, the soothing music, and our professional wait staff. Then, we had a wonderful bottle of Chianti, recommended by Jerry. With that, my husband and I shared the appetizers, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto, and the freshest seafood salad I have ever had. For dinner, I had homemade fettuccine with shrimp and sliced filet mignon. My husband let me taste is branzino topped with roasted pepper puree. Of course, my favorite part is dessert! Peppe brought over millefoglie in the shape of a heart, filled with sweet homemade cream, drizzled with raspberry sauce. Yum!! more

From the second we walked in, we felt special. Lovely decor, terrific service... everyone actually cared that we were happy. The piano player gave that elegant touch and had us humming without even realizing it.. And .... the food was MAGNIFICENT. Pros: A Perfect Dinner Experience more

My favorite spot in Brooklyn! 2/5/2010

Living in the city, I frequent many popular restaurants and yet I long for Salvi's homemade Spinach and Cheese Ravioli. Their hot antipasto is to die for and the portions are more than satisfying. No matter how full, I always make room for their homemade Napolean, (that I have even called in a special request for my best friend's birthday!) You can't go wrong ! Yum! Pros: Flavorful food, always feel welcomed & staff attentive Cons: That I don't live closer to the restaurant! more

OK local place 12/26/2009

If you need to reach for the salt and pepper in a restaurant that is not a good sign. The portions are large. I would recommend the pasta over the fish. The salads are nice and large. The dessert tasted like it was from Costco. Although once we went there and they made a fresh napolean and it was like nothing I have ever tasted. Overall there are better Italian places. After all, this is Brooklyn. Pros: decent piano player Cons: food lacks taste more
