Salvation Army Harbor Light MacOmb

I've stayed here as a patient, so this is my first hand experience. Take it or leave it: If you are willing to do the work, then this place can work for you. However it's mostly full of people who are court ordered into treatment, there are ALWAYS drugs readily available, so if you aren't strong enough to say no, this is not the place for you. If you don't really want to get clean, this place would work. It is clean and cheap. Ideal for people without insurance who can't afford to wait the 3 months it takes CARE to get you into a nice rehab. Just be prepared to be around drugs and sex. People constantly sneak off into the bathroom/laundry room and their own bedrooms to have sex and do drugs. It is also very easy to sneak ANY thing in. However, if you're extremely strong willed about getting and staying clean, you could do it here. Hope this helps. more

They provide this service for those who are seeking rehabilitation. The salvation army really does bend over backwards to help those who can't help themselves, as long as they are willing to do the footwork and try. They have various programs to involve them in. I know that when I was manager of the Salvation Army in New Baltimore...many of our drivers also were members of the program. So they try to set them up with jobs again. I almost transferred and worked in the office at this location but I decided not to take that job. more
