So I went to Salsa Latina for my daughter's birthday with my family on a Saturday night and had a good dinner...the food was well-priced and the service was adequate for a casual dining experience.
UNTIL the end of the night when we were just finishing up our wine, one of the servers comes over to the table and tells us they were expecting a reservation and needed OUR table when there were PLENTY of vacant tables in the small restaurant. I was in shock that the staff would have the audacity to ask us to leave after spending good money and tipping well. My daughter works in a restaurant if she would have done something of the sort, she would have gotten fired!! I have never had the experience of dining somewhere where it is acceptable to tell their patrons they need to GET UP for a reservation, ESPECIALLY when there are available seating elsewhere.
When I approached the manager about how upset I was, she was somewhat acommadating, however the owner came from the back somewhere and she was very rude and did not try to diffuse the situation at all! I was very displeased with her customer service skills and attitude towards good customers.
For that reason I will NOT be visiting this restaurant again....beware if you go to celebrate a special occassion with your family, you very well may be asked to GET UP for another reservation waiting!!! No etiquette or customer service skills in this restaurant! Would NOT recommend to anyone...go to Perth Amboy!
