Salon Pompeo

My experience at Salon Pompe was absolutely excellent. I have never been to a Salon with such great customer service! The front desk was so nice and the put me with the best stylist named Kim, was so sweet. Kimwas definitely the stylist that my hair needed. I had such a bad experience with color at another salon in town and they fried my hair. Kim gave me a conditioning treatmeant and fixed my color! When I left Pompeo its like I had a whole new head of hair. My color was so beautiful and my hair felt like silk! Salon Pompeo is the place I recommend to all my friends now, and I will absolutely continue to go there. Pros: Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, convienent parking, and Service Cons: None more

i recently visited Salon Pompeo and saw Keri. it was my first time to visit the salon and the front desk staff was very helpful. they even offered me a great selection of wine or beer which i gladly accepted. When Keri took me back to highlight and cut my hair she actually listened to what i had in mind for my hair. she also gave me a couple of her own ideas and my hair turned out perfectly! The color was just right and the cut was just my style. ive been to many other salons and im VERY hard to please when it comes to my hair and i have never been as satisfied as i was at Salon Pompeo. The staff was so fun and friendy and i felt very comfortable the whole time i was there. i would definately recommend this salon to my closest friends and to anyone who is looking for good hair service at a great price! I have lived in Dallas for 2.5 years, and this is the first salon I returned to following my first visit. I wasn't pleased anywhere else I went, and found Salon Pompeo on citysearch, as a matter of fact. The salon is extremely clean, and the facilities are nice. I like my stylist...he does a good job and makes the perfect amount of conversation, enough to be friendly, but not over-the-top-annoying. Some reviews on here say parking is a hassle, but I have never had a problem. My first couple of appointments, I scheduled immediately without problem. My last one, however, the front desk person was unprofessional and was talking in the background the entire time, put me on hold without even telling me "hold on," and then would not work me in for the day I wanted. I called back later, and the next person was the opposite, and that is the only incident I have had, so I will consider that a one-time thing, I guess. The prices are about what you expect for a good job. If I remember correctly, I can get a highlight, cut and tip for just under $200, which is expensive, of course, but like I said, for a good job, it's about average price. They also served cocktails there, so that's fun. more

I go to Salon Pompeo all the time now. It is one of the best places in Dallas for a haircut! Mike has done my hair at least once a month. He is awesome! I love the way he works because he teaches you ways to do your hair and educates you how to continue to maintain your hair from home. My co-workers and friends alwaaaays ask me where I get my hair done and who does it. Believe me you won't be sorry!! I absolutely love when Mike touches my hair and does his magic in just a few minutes. I am so picky with my hair and I have been to a whole lot of hairstylists; I can't even compare them to Mike, he just awesome!! I highly would recommend this place!! I loved the place. I have returned a few times and it will be the place that I get my haircut from now on. I have tried other cuts like Gino and others, but this one i still feel is the best. more

I've had my hair done by Mike about 3 times now and he always does a super job. I'm so glad I found this place! I had a cut and color done last night and this morning when I came into work, I got so many compliments on how fantastic it looked. The staff is always friendly, and I love that I can have a beer or glass of wine while I wait. I don't know about parking since it's conveniently located within walking distance from my house. I have lived in Dallas for 6 years and have never been able to find a stylist that worked for me. I called Salon Pompeo early on a Saturday morning and they just happened to have an opening with Kim. I wanted to take my hair back from brown to blonde and was incredibly nervous about it. She not only did a FABULOUS job with my hair cut, but the color looks fantastic and is exactly what I was looking for! It took me long enough, but I have finally found a stylist in Dallas and will definitely be coming back again and again! Pros: Great stylists, fun atmosphere Cons: Parking more

I have been going to Mike Evans at Salon Pompeo for about 6 months now. He is a WONDERFUL stylist. He always takes the time to listen to me, figure out exactly what I like and don't like, and he's honest when giving opinions. He also gives wonderful head massages when shampooing! :) I would highly recommend him to anyone, including my closest friends. more

I absolutely love Salon Pompeo! Since I just recently moved to Dallas, I had been trying to find a new regular salon and several of my friends recommended this place to me. I dance for one of the professional sports teams here in Dallas and many of my teammates go to Pompeo. I tried it out for myself a couple months ago and loved the way Eddie listened to exactly what I wanted and created a style that was suited to my desires and style. Highly recommended :-) more

Loved the experience and that they offered a selection wine. But what I really loved was my stylist Kinley!! He has moved on and I do not know how to find him. If anyone knows him or where I can find him, please post it...a good stylist is HARD to come by! I've only visited Mike for 2 haircuts, but I'll be a customer as long as he is cutting hair. He listens to your ideas for a cut and also makes recommendation on what he thinks would look best for your facial structure and hair texture. I respect his expert opinion, and he always guides me in the right direction. He asks a lot of questions to get to know your hair history, how you wear your hair (curly or straight), etc, and I appreciate his attention to detail. He has also offered to come into the salon for any hair emergencies, should I ever have one. I definitely recommend him if you are looking for a stylist! Just moved here from N.Y & needed a good hairdresser. I was at the mall and I saw the cutiest haircut since I've been here. Needless to say I asked her about her hair, and she gave me one of her hair-stylists cards (MIKE EVANS)!! I was surprised I was able to get in so quickly w/ him. HE IS AWESOME!!.He listen to what I wanted & gave me some advice on products also. My cut was so cute,I went out that night. Pros: Nice salon W/ late hrs & covered parking Cons: none more

Salon is really reasonable considering its Uptown location. I go to Mike, he's a cool guy and spends the time to listen to what you want. His cuts grow out well. Also, I get partial highlights and its a really generous number of foils for being a partial, not full. Con: Parking is in a dank scary garage, and even though its on McKinney you cant see the Pompeo sign from McKinney. Pros: Once you get inside the staff are really nice and the bar makes a good atmosphere. Best? The hours! I work late and even salons that close at 7 or 8 close too early for me to get cut and color w/o having to leave work early. But Pompeo is open until 10 which makes scheduling so much better. more

Finally a full service salon that works with MY schedule instead of the usual....'let me see if I can fit you in comment'. I love that I can get a massage, facial, make up applicatin , buy top brand products, paint my nails, hair cut, hair colour, hair style, hair perm or updo, spray tan AND a drink! All in a 10 mile radius of my house! whoo hoo! AND on MY schedule!!!!!Spoil me like a princess they do! Pros: The best darn value and use of my beauty time ever! Cons: not a one! more

I can not imagine going to any other salon! I don?t know who they fired below in that last review, but what she said is not the case! They have great stylists and I go for the air brush. They also have great products. I bought a spray tan in a can and was skeptical, but with the right instruction from the tech, I was able to touch in between tans on my own and save a little money. I love this place and wouldn?t think of going anywhere else downtown. They just remolded recently as well. Go try for yourself! Pros: Love the beverage service and the stylists! My first and last experience here was awful. I met my "stylist" who was having her own hair processed at the time, while her hair was up in a towel. I was quite nervous since that seemed really unprofessional of her. Turns out she was fairly new to the business, which made me even more nervous. I took a chance and let her cut my hair, which came out okay. HOWEVER, I asked for a CLEAR gloss and my dark brown hair came out the color of a rusty nail. I thought it was just the lighting, but when I got into the light of day my "CLEAR" gloss had definitely changed the color of my hair. It was 2 yrs before I could get a clear gloss in my hair again. This place is not all it is made out to be. I found the interior to be less than desirable as well. Think very carefully before you go here. more

I had a manicure, pedicure, and haircut at Salon Pompeo. Let me start by saying that the staff was very friendly and the prices were very resonable. My haircut was fantastic! They definitely deserve being rated one of the best haircuts in Dallas. As far as my nails, they didn't do a bad job, but they didn't do a good job either. Afterwards, my cuticles looked ragged and my nails look poorly shaped/filed. Also, there were a very limited amount of color choices available so I suggest bringing your own polish (which luckily, I did). Overall, I thought it was a nice place. more

I went into salon pompeo, and I had an appointment with Abel for a haircut and a facial with Liz, I've never had a better haircut or a facial, I was thouroughly surprised, I've been to a few places and for some reason always leave out greatly disatisfied, but salon pompeo was great! Great haircut less chat, is what i like, and i was very relaxed with my facial, Highly recommend, I will be going back! Pros: open till 10 pm and DRINKS! Cons: poor parking and frankie's bar more

I have been to many salons and spas and I recently went to Pompeo for my hair and a facial. The place is so New York. They are such cool people but very talented. My hair was exactly the way I wanted it and the facial was perfect. My skin was glowing and I set up some Microdermabrasion with Natalee. I have been to Red Door, the Crescent you name it--but this is where I will be coming for my hair and skin! Natalee also waxed my brows and I have gotten so many compliments on them and my husband noticed my hair...and that is huge! more
