Salon Matos

I am a little appalled about the previous comment in reference to Chloe and quite frankly feel that the comments referenced are untrue. I have tried many different salons of all prices ranges and so I decided to try Salon Matos because I heard such wonderful things about Chloe and the salon itself. When I got there Chloe was very personable and made sure that she thorougly understood the concerns I had about coloring and cutting my hair and the hope I had in finding a great stylist. She made sure to ask as many questions as possible so that she gave me exactly what I wanted. She informed me of all the products they use and the many different options they had available to give me the experience that best suited my needs. \r \r She was friendly and very informative. I was very satisfied with service, haircut and color I received from her along with the great conversation! Its almost been a year since I've been going to this Salon and usually go every 8-10 weeks to get my color touched up. I love it here and will not use another Salon. \r \r As most other Salons depending on the day, time and season of course the Salon might be busier but that is to be expected. You don't walk in to a restaurant on a Friday night and expect to be seated in 30minutes. Salons, (GOOD SALONS) will always be busy and make sure they take their time with each customer so that satisfaction is reached. Of course this might run over in time but how is this different from a doctors office? In the end ,you still get the time and care that you deserve. I went to Salon Matos on the recommendations on CitySearch and had an appointment with Chloe. To start with she was 45 minutes late (no apology was given), the first thing she wanted to do was sell me a $30 hair treatment. Listening to the other stylist's, this must have been the theme of the day; everyone was pushing it. On to the haircut, I have short hair and lots of it. I told Chloe that I wanted a complete new haircut and she was free to do whatever she wanted. Well, I guess she did not want to do much. My hair looked exactly the same when she was done as it did when I walked in. I mentioned this to her and got no response. I had her cut some more, but it did not help. All through the haircut, she was too busy trying to keep her top from falling off. I understand that they all want to dress funky, but you need to be able to keep your clothes on while cutting hair I do not know if she had a bad day, was in a hurry to finish my cut because she was so later, or really just does not know how to cut hair. It was a lot of money to spend on a haircut, that I could not tell was cut; nor could anyone else. I will not be back. I had to go some place else less than a week later to get my haircut. I recently came across a stylist M. working at this salon. Since I'm pretty picky about who cuts my hair, I was very happy to have found her. The drive is a bit much, but M. is absolutely the closest I come to getting my har to look the way I want. After three weeks is when you can really tell if the cut was thumbs up or down. I absolutely love this salon, i've been all around Houston and Matos can never go wrong. My last visit was with Chloe and I got say she rocks at what she does. She will rock your hair. She is super sweet and loves what she does. Can't go wrong with Chloe, ask for her and tell your friends. I wont go no where else from now on. I had been looking for a salon that focused on Paul Mitchell, and came across Salon Matos. I had my first appointment with Chloe, and she was fantastic! I dye my hair dark, but I can be picky about which tones I want. She gave me a few suggestions at how to enhance my color without completely changing my overall look. I love it! She also gave me a GREAT cut. It again was an update of the cut I already had, and liked, but she gave it that extra wow factor. When I said I want my hair to look a certain way, she had a few ideas on how to do that, and then she made me look fabulous! I will definitely be going back to Chloe, and Salon Matos in general. My stylist is Liz. She is simply the best when it comes to haircuts and highlights. Every time I've gotten my hair done by her, I have received loads of compliments. She has a gift for delivering the results you want to suit you personally in the most flattering way. The salon is awesome. Very modern and comfortable. I recently went in for a ""makeover"" appointment with IVIS. Never in my life have I left a salon feeling so uplifted and beautiful. I came in was asked to change and waited until my appointment time only to see him walking a fab. hair style up to the reception area so I was extremly excited to see what he could do for me. The shampoo... what can i say?- faboulous, amazing, relaxing, etc. I felt like a celeb who was being pampered, he gave his undivided attention me the whole time i was in. i brought pictures in to show him what i was going for but he gave it an amazing twist by adding in another color to contrast the beautiful hilights. I was refered by his girlfriend one day while shopping at Neiman's in the galleria and i was drawn by her platinum blonde haircolor and stunning cut. She told me i would never want to go to another stylist ------ she was dead on. He taught me how to style my hair and directed me on the use of product which i have never gotten before. Went to this place for the 1st time in August. I was referred by a friend to get my highlights done there stating her haircolorist does her hair. Well, my 1st time there, I didn't get my friends hairdresser, I had Joli. She wasn't very attentive, & seemed to be more involved in chit chatting with the other clientele there. I was charged over $200 plus a tip, & the highlights were ok, but I've had much better work done at a previous salon out of state, which I moved here from 4 months ago. Joli told me that since I had all my hair highlighted, that it would cost less the next time since the regrowth would be the only work I needed done. Went back a month later to touch up the regrowth, & payed $93 for her to cover up the roots, no highlights, & the color she put on the roots didn't match, it was totally brassy--IT LOOKED CRAPPY! Joli was unattentive, & the only time she was attentive, was when I had to wait up front at the cashier for her to screw my out of money! Not to mention, one of the shampoo girls used a hairbrush on my wet hair instead of a wide tooth comb to get all the tangles out, & tore out alot of my hair! \r Recently, I have found a wonderful haircolorist who charges alot less, & does excellent highlight work at Salons in the Park. I wish I would have found her when I 1st went looking for a haircolorist when I moved here. \r I'm sure Salon Matos keeps most of it's patrons satisfied, or maybe it was just the haircolorist I had, but I will never go there again, & would not recommend them to anyone that I know.... I love Salon Matos I have been going there for about 3 years now to Georgia and I just love her!! Every time she has done my hair, it has turned out great, I just let her do whatever she thinks will look good because I know it will. Everyone there is really friendly and I love the atmosphere of the salon. If you live in the Spring area, you should make it a point to make that your salon. I get my hair cut by Venus at Salon Matos. She is an amazing hair stylist. She knows all the latest styles and colors. She is one of the sweetest person you will ever meet. If you're looking for your stylist, look no further. Salon Matos has it all: great location, minimal wait time, friendly & courteous staff, quality service and products. I purchased a cut and color/highlights from Melanie. I brought in pictures and she was able to get a feel for what I wanted. I will never step foot in another salon again.
