Sloooooow service 11/7/2008

I have no complaints about the food here. While it's not earth-shattering, I would say the food is actually better than average and reasonably priced, as well. What ruins the experience is the unreasonably long wait. It doesn't matter whether the restaurant is packed or not. I gave them three chances, and they blew it with the extraordinarily slow service every single time. There's also the eww factor. Once, I saw a waitress pouring half a cup of tea left behind by a customer on the table to wipe it "clean". That's pretty disgusting! Pros: reasonable food, friendly staff Cons: slow, inefficient service more

Best Sushi Around-No Contest 2/13/2008

I have to say that anyone who has a bad review for Salmon Creek knows nothing about sushi. The service is excellent and the sushi is even better. I lived in California for 15 years and ate at the best sushi restaurants, Salmon Creek's sushi ranks among the best. I have eaten there when the restaurant is packed and also when I'm one of two people in the whole place and there is no difference in the service nor the length of time it take to get my sushi. They are very generous with their servings and the quality is never compromised, it's excellent every time. I would recommend Salmon Creek to anyone who can appreciate good service and high quality sushi everytime you go in or order take out. As for the critics, stick to KFC and Long John Silvers, it's more your style... more

Overpriced, long wait (50 minutes) for take-out and they got the order wrong!!! 8/9/2007

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I never write reviews but the service & incompetence was so ridiculous that I feel the need to warn others. We placed our take-out order & were told to come back in 30 minutes. We ordered 4 orders of nigiri & 3 rolls. The restaurant was about half full (4-5 tables) w/ 2 sushi chefs & a cook in the back. We came back 30 minutes later & when I asked if the food was ready the entire staff looked at each other in confusion. They started comparing tickets & talking in a different language & I could tell that our order never made it to the chefs. They asked for my ticket & then told me it was going to be another 20 minutes because they were really busy. There were 4 tables & most of them were already eating or finishing up their meals. Basically they didnt want to admit that our order never made its way to the people who were going to be making it. We asked for a refund because we already waited 30 minutes & weren't about to wait another 20 minutes. They said they would have it ready in 5 minutes so we told them we would wait 5 minutes but if it wasn't ready then we wanted a refund. 5+ minutes later & no food. I noticed the sushi chef was making nigiri that wasn't ours for another table. I got up to ask what was going on & they told me it was ready. They gave us 2 take out boxes and we walked out of the restaurant-just happy we finally got our freaking food. We decided to check out order to make sure they got everything & they didn't give us our $10 tempura roll! We obviously demanded a refund. The lady didn't know how to do a refund on a credit card so she gave us cash. You would think if you've made us wait 50 minutes you would double check that order but obviously they don't care at all. One of the chefs was apologetic & again made the excuse that it was busy but it wasn't. If you want subpar overpriced sushi & horrible service then go. Can't see it lasting more than 6 months. AWFUL! Cons: terrible service, long waits, got our order wrong more

Good sushi in Juanita 11/4/2006

What is so refreshing about Salmon Creek is that as Juanita dwellers now we don't have to go to Bellevue or Seattle for really great Japanese food and more importantly sushi. The fish is fresh, the rolls are creative without trying to be one size fits all, the portions are generous. The spicy salad is really good! We have been 6 or 7 times now, if you are not in a hurry it's the right choice, the drawback is that there is always only one server often backed up by the chef. If there are more than 2 tables they seemed to get completely overwhelmed,.The atmosphere is light and casual with light rock music and a plasma tv always going. If they managed to get a little extra help it would be more of a regular place for us. more
