Best

I went in to find some new makeup. The younger lady at the counter was really sweet, she showed me all of the new stuff they had at the counter. She even offered to put it on me, ...

Worst

When I applied for a credit card, they asked me security questions about my husband's ex wife. Totally rude, totally uncalled for, embarrassing and insulting.

Just drive on by!!!!!!!!!! 10/24/2011

Worst CS I have ever had. Simply rude and acted like they were being bothered. I had a problem and told it was not their issue since it was purchased at another Saks and they did not have time to look for an EVEN exchange. Not worth the time. Will use other HE stores online in the future. more

Horrible Customer Service 5/28/2011

I'm glad to know that it's not just me. These are the rudest employees I have ever encountered. Perhaps they need customer service training or they should be replaced. Management needs to take heed. I now travel to Atlanta for my high-end handbags. The Louvie Vuitton personnel are horrible and snobish. You'd think these handbags were their personal items. What a shame that they're the only game in town. more

Customer Service Stinks! 3/4/2011

Sooo, I realize this is a common theme here. The Sales Associates at this store are abominable. They treat customers harshly, and have very snobbish attitudes. I also don't window shop. I go there to buy handbags because they are the only high end handbag retailer anywhere near this area. Frankly, I'd rather travel to Georgia and Florida and give them my money first. I've been to Saks several times, always for handbags, and I have ALWAYS been treated poorly. I just don't understand the thought behind treating customers badly. I adore Louis Vuitton handbags, and have made several purchases. It always thrills me to buy a new one, but I DREAD going to the store simply because the associates are so rude. They make the buying experience a nightmare instead of the pleasant joy it should be. Maybe the managers should look into some nicer employees who actually want the job they have and care enough to work hard for it. more

Not worth the insults 12/10/2010

I've shopped at the Birmingham location several times, and I've never received anything but awful service. I don't 'window shop', I go to make a purchase, and I expect more from people who are paid to help people. The staff there is rude, and I was followed around like a criminal. As a professional, and certainly dressed like one, I was insulted. When looking for a wedding gown, I was told there would not be any appointments available for me. They are 'reserved for our bigger clients'. I had a rather detailed conversation with the manager after that one and have not been back. Unfortunately, it's indicative of the area from which they hire their staff. Several ladies have said they applied for a position and were told that most of the staff was from Mountain Brook, and that they (the applicant) would not fit in or feel comfortable. Quite frankly, someone needs to go in and clean house. more

Good selection, awful service 4/11/2006

I visited this Saks location to purchase a handbag and received what was, quite frankly, the worst customer service I've ever gotten in a luxury retailer. I was ignored twice, treated harshly by an associate, and the salesgirl who finally helped me was as ditzy as they come. My husband and I are nicely dressed young professionals & go to stores like this all the time, so I don't think our appearance or anything like that was the issue. We got over the snooty Saks attitude pretty quick and don't intend to go back. I ended up taking my business elsewhere & got excellent service, and the salesgirl there comiserated with me about the awful Saks service - she said the same thing had happened to her while she was shopping for makeup. more
