The Worst Grocery Store I've Ever Shopped In 9/14/2011

The only positive things I can say about the Mt. Airy Safeway is that their meat quality is good, and their checkout staff is fairly quick and competent. Now, on with the cons: Safety: the store is located in a shopping center with a lot of traffic (there is a pass-through to the plaza with the Wal-Mart). There is only one crosswalk at the very end of the store. You often have to wait awhile to cross the road, and I have nearly been run over twice because drivers speed through there. Why not put in another crosswalk? Prices: most items are priced a good deal higher than Weis and Food Lion. Product selection: Limited. The store is small, and I often need an item they don't carry. Pharmacy: this is probably the worst aspect of the store. I transferred from Superfresh, whose staff went out of their way to help. The pharmacy at Safeway has made mistakes filling my prescriptions four times in only a few months, resulting in having to make several trips to pick up prescriptions. They seem completely unconcerned about their individual customers and whether or not they have their medications on time. Also, there is almost always a line. Store: cramped and difficult to move around in If you are looking for a pharmacy with good customer service and a grocery store with reasonable prices, go elsewhere! more
