Opportunities Await! 3/29/2006

If you're just looking for personal enrichment or you're working your way toward a career, Saddleback College is for you. Classes are affordable, allowing you to explore your interests on your time through a wide variety of day, evening, distance learning (internet/radio/television) and shortened 8 week courses. They have a very good music program: Dr. Norm Weston is a brilliant music theory professor. The biggest problem Saddleback faces is parking: be prepared to allow extra time to park during the first weeks of classes. Follow your dreams! more

Not a bad place to take a class 9/27/2005

Saddleback College isn't a bad place to take an extra class or two. It can be fun for professionals who want to relax with an art class or cooking class that isn't going to cost a fortune. For kids just getting out of high school who don't know exactly which way to head this can be a great alternative to a 4 year school. Some of the professors are hit or miss but if a class sucks you didn't lose that much since each class is so cheap! It's worth a shot! more

Nice Community College 9/27/2005

This is one of the better community colleges you will find. The campus is very old but it still works. I believe it has one of the highest transfer rates of the community colleges. The teachers are reasonable, however the tutoring department is definitely lacking. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but where is it not, really? This is a good transition school for those just coming out of high school but not completely ready for a prestigious four year university. more

Fun AND educational, all wrapped in one 8/4/2005

When I graduated from high school, I started my college career at Saddleback College. I also attended there again at a later time. This is a great community college. I was able to complete most of my undergraduate requirements there. It is very inexpensive...when I attended, it was $11/unit for California residents (the last I heard, it went up to $14/unit or such, but that is still an amazing deal) There is a large library, a bookstore, and activities to do on campus. I enjoyed the classes I took. Some were ones you probably wouldn't find at a traditional university - like Italian cooking. Parking is usually not too bad, especially compared to the university I am near now. All in all, I would advise anyone to start out with their general requirements here. Save a lot of money and get a good education. more
