I had been an occasional Shoe-Inn customer for many years. I have probably spent several thousand dollars there. Customer service used to be great. Last week I spotted a Sheila Fajl necklace marked $68 and brought it to the counter to pay. After fumbling around in a drawer, the sales person informed me that the price tag was wrong and the price was $98. No apologies, in fact, her expression was almost accusatory. She said a customer must have switched tickets and refused to honor the price. I do understand that these things happen and had her manner been different, I probably would have paid the higher price as I really liked the necklace. I left the necklace and walked out. When I got home, I found and ordered the necklace online for $68. Sheila Fajl jewelry is mass produced and fairly uniformly priced. Shoe Inn either added an almost 50% markup or the clerk was mistaken. Either way, that $30 has cost them my business, and my friends and fellow shoe addicts.
Big mistake.
