All I want to do is switch people on my account... 5/2/2012

All I want to do is replace the person I have on my membership, which I pay for, with another. The person I signed up with hasn't paid me for their training session I fronted or the monthly fee of $12, and before the negative comments come about who I signed up with me and didn't pay, i should have known...like I knew my step-daughter would do this to me. I never asked for a reduction, I just want her off my account; well, you can't cancel them without paying the $99 fee and proof of a medical reason or moving out of a 50 mile radius. Too add the other person, I have to pay them $50, and then she can be added, as my reasons for dropping my step-daughter is not within their scope. OK, I understand what I signed, however, I can see if I asked for to just drop her completely and reduce my fees, but, that’s not what I asked for! more

BEWARE OF THE CONTRACT(WATCH YOUR ACCOUNT) 1/28/2012

Rush spills this big speech to you and then when your contract is up,they still keep taking your money out of your account. They said when your contract ends that would automatically stop. It's BS and beware of the contract! My lawyer can't wait to stick it to them like they do to the people. more

Loud Music 6/27/2011

Very loud music. Most of people have their own music and i was told that Rush policy is to leave the music loud and you can hear the music on the parking lot. This is for Asheville NC rush Fitness center.I have another three months for my membership to expire then I am going some were else where it is peacefull. READ THE FINE PRINT 5/30/2011

The representatives at the Rush Complex will wow you with they're equipment, training and hours of operation but when the excitement wears off take time to read the fine print before signing a contract. Don't expect them to explain the details of they're cancellation policy to you or how long you're in for. The fact is, you will be stuck for 2 YEARS, No, you can't just cancel and pay a cancellation fee, you are STUCK. Lost your job don't care STUCK. The only way to get unstuck is a doctors note saying you can never work out again or you move more than 50 miles from the nearest Rush Fitness Center. If this happens and they agree to unstick you, then you pay the cancellation fee and hope its over. Ask yourself before you sign this toxic contract: ""What can happen in 2 years other than the obvious not wanting to go to the gym anymore?"" A lot of things. more

Lee Hwy Rush 4/5/2011

I like the Rush very much...except for the music. I went in last Saturday on Lee Hwy and listened to a running barrage of rap for two hours. Thought I'd lose my mind. PLEASE mix it up! Hard rock and street music is not conducive to physical training. The people who love it are already listening to it 24/7 so I'd like a chance to have a relaxing experience when I go to the gym. Most people are wearing their own headset and couldn't care less what's playing overhead, so please be fair to a range of your clients. Thanks very much. more

The Rush Fitness Complex Cleveland Chattanooga experience 5/9/2010

I've always been a health conscious geek since I was in my mid 30's. I'm already in my late 50's and easily got bored with my daily 30 minute walk routine. I came across The Rush fitness website 3 mos. ago and was kinda curious about their workout program. The front line personnel introduced me to a fitness coach and assisted me all throughout the session. I was a bit scared at first but when they introduced me to the other members who were also doing their cardio workouts, I got convinced to enroll at the Rush fitness Cleveland Chattanooga branch which is a few blocks away from my house. I am enjoying the company of my new found friends at the Rush fitness while keeping myself fit with the right exercise program for my age. Pros: courteous staffs, easy 2 use machines, flexible workout sched more

Wooga Chattanooga 5/9/2010

Transparency is really important when dealing with clients and The Rush Chattanooga really lives by that. A year ago when I signed the contract, every teeny weeny detail was explained to me. Of course, I was very keen on scrutinizing every nook and cranny of it. Never did I regret doing business with them. I've got a wonderful fitness coach who guided me through my weight loss program. He was very supportive and patient unlike the trainers from other gyms that I've enrolled in. Their 24/7 service is an advantage because I really have a busy schedule and I can fit my workout session in my everyday itinerary. When I learned about their Kid's program, without hesitation, I enrolled my seven-year-old in their program and she's having a great time. My trip to gym turned out to be wonderful bonding time for me and kid. Pros: great service, wonderful trainers, open 24/7 more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE MISLEADERS!!! 3/8/2010

My boyfriend was a member of this facility and wanted to add me as someone who can come in and workout with him anytime. We contacted to facility and spoke to JOSE who said that we could upgrade his current membership to an elite membership with no problem the only thing we would have to do is come in and pay the first month and last months dues which came to a total of $30.00 and sign an amendment to his existing contract. When we asked him if something happened and we needed to go back to the original contract would there be any problems he stated no that all we would have to do is call back in and tell them we wanted to go back to the original contract terms and agreements we ask this repeatedly 5 times before signing anything..well today 03/08/2010 we had tried to process the cancellation from elite back to his original agreement and were informed that we could not do that..that the only way to cancel a contract is with a doctors note or moving within 50miles from that location...when asked why we were informed that we could all that member services kept telling me like a broken record was that all that applies is written agreements not verbal and that I had 3 days to cancel prior to now..I kept telling the lady that we werent trying to cancel our agreement that we were just wanting to change it back like the way it was originally and she kept stating it could not be done..I have spoken with 2 other clubs including one in knoxville (which is the corporate store) to my amusement where I was told you have the flexibility to go to different gym locations and change the conditions of your contact at any time..so now I am having to wait for my complaint to be put on some white collar corporate guys desk to review and get back with me which by the looks of the 15 reviews ahead of mine I won't get a phone call back or it will take 3 weeks to get one...I do not recommend this company to anyone!! seems as if money is all they are worried about and customers mean nothing to them once you signed the contract and walk out the door!!!... now that I think about it no wonder its called ""THE RUSH"" the name fits them perfectly....Walk in the front door and be RUSHED right back out...this place allows there member services reps to lie to people and doesn't care about the repercussions that we as consumers have to face after the fact.. Cons: WILL MISLEAD YOU.. more

Lee Hwy Rush Fitness 12/21/2009

I love the Lee Hwy Rush. The trainers are all very personable but knowledgeable, and willing to find what motivates *you*. The gym is huge, and in addition to the usual equipment they have a sauna, tanning, a full sized pool, clean locker room and showers, a juice bar, and even kidcare if you need it. The freespace is occasionally overcrowded, but not much you can do about it being a popular spot. highly recommended. Ask for JJ as a trainer :) Pros: Great trainers, great equip, 24 hours Cons: occasionally overcrowded more

Nice fittness center 10/5/2009

I love the variety of equipment and their hours, it is open 24/7, they have protein shakes bar and a small pool.\r Their staff is very friendly, well, most of them anyway. also I think their gx room is small for the amount of people attending the class and I wish they had a family locker room for adults with kids. In overall I am happy and would recomend this gym for people who are tired of plain old gyms with old equipment. Pros: variety of equipment Cons: small GX areas more

Hate the Big Fans 9/26/2008

The Rush Fitness Center is okay, but the temperature of a gym should be warm to provide maximum flexibility and comfort. Whether it is winter or summer, the Rush is always chilly. In the summer, they crank the air conditioner and in the winter they won't run the heat much. And to make it extremely bad, there is a huge fan blowing down on the people working out so that when you are sweating you get a chill. My muscles, tendons, and ligaments never really get warmed up and fully stretched out in there. It is not just the Hixson location, either. The owner seems think the Big A** Fans are way cool, even though they are really goofy. It's like when someone tries too hard and you just feel embarrassed for them. Pros: Good weights and machines, good hours, and good non-lifting facilities. Reasonable monthly rates. Cons: Downtown parking is only for 2 hours which is not enough. more

trainers 1/18/2008

I'm really happy for you that found a gym that you can enjoy not only by yourself but with your children. I understand that you want a trainer and you think that the Rush is to expensive. I don't know how much those trainers rates are, but I'm a trainer and I know that us trainers need to make a living to, and if some people are willing to pay it then we are going to charge it. But if you want to pick a trainer I suggest them not being ACE certified or any other weekend certification make sure its something like N.P.T.I. \r \r Hope this helps you\r Good Luck on your goals :)\r \r Get Fit Get healthy! Become one less person overweight! Become the new you! more

Best Gym for any age and size 1/3/2008

I like going there because I don't feel bad about being a large person. Most people there don't have the perfect little 16yr old body. I like that my children are in the child care that has many activities for them to do including a climbing wall, video games, and an indoor playground. They beg for me to go which makes it hard for me to be a couch potato. If you want to get fit and feel good while doing it I suggest The Rush. The only thing that I would like to see change are the rates for a trainer. I would like to see it as part of the whole package just like at the YMCA. Pros: Feel comfortable there Cons: personal trainers are VERY expensive more
