The Tiramisu...was a huge let down. The Tiramisu in Italy was amazing. I have had good Tiramisu before. But Rose's, was so far off...it's made with a poor cake instead of ladyfingers. They do have what looks similar to ladyfingers around the outside pasted to the frosting, but even these are made from the same yellow cake batter. The flavor...what flavor? It tasted like bad cake...like someone didn't know what to do...so they did nothing. Rose's charges $5.99usd for a small wedge and $52.00usd for a whole cake. Rose's has got this one so wrong. And, shame on them for putting the Tiramisu name on this disaster. more

I used to love it. 7/31/2011

This place used to be great. I still see glimpses of that but more often than not I end up very frustrated with my experience. Last weekend we went with friends before trying to make a movie. We had our friends order and the server wouldn't come by our table until they arrived. I waved to him, he nodded, and then walked away. When our friends finally arrived we ordered and they asked for lox and bagels. Well, the cream cheese had run out but they tried to serve it anyway. They scraped what little they had across the bagels and served it like it wouldn't be noticed. Our friends didn't have to pay but they had no time to order something before going to the movie. Today, my wife ran up there to get breakfast for us and they did it again. I ordered biscuits and gravy and they put almost no gravy on it. I have had it in the restaurant and you can't see the top of the biscuits for the gravy, which also pools around the base. This time they just put a light drizzle of gravy over the center of the biscuits and sent the food out. Doing this on a to go order is unacceptable since the customer discovers it at home and can't send it back or complain to the manager. I drove it back to the restaurant. The girl behind the counter was very apologetic and refunded the money but nothing makes up for intentionally poor quality. more

This is one fantastic Deli and Bakery 2/2/2010

This was our second trip to Rose's since relocating from Pennysylvania. All I can say is....it is fantastic. Reasonable prices, excellent food, superb waitstaff, and take it from me...if you like deli, or comfort food....you won't find a more incredible place. I assume, from what I have been told, all of the Rose's live up to the same standards. I hope you are lucky enough to get our waitress (Jennifer), and have the Signature dish.....mac and cheese with pastrami.....OMG....you will love it. Pros: Comfort food and Deli like the East Coast Cons: The plates are too hard to eat....only kidding more

what happened? 7/3/2008

It seems that every time I go into this location they have new management? The new manager doesn't seem very friendly at all. She doesnt seem to smile. You can also feel the vibe from the employees that she is not to nice. I think the employees are what make this place nice. So its quite sad to see them unhappy. I loved this place but now with the food being less than what it use to be and the staff looking so lost it's not that great anymore. What happened? I went in on a busy weekend before going to see a movie with my husband and the staff looked over worked and helpless. Food took so long to get to our table but we were smart enough to give us enough time before our movie started. We gave our waitress a 25% tip because we know the long wait on our food was out of her hands and also out of pity. In my days pity tips were the best but not what I wanted. My husband doesnt want to ever go back. But I just might. Who knows? Pros: Great lounge! Cons: The management, the wait for food. more

Best desserts anywhere 4/23/2008

I eat at rose's resturant and bakery alot, and so far they have yet to make me not want to come back and eat again. The food is great all day and they have many great desserts to try. my Favorite new dessert is the ice cream sunday with pieces of Cinnamon in it. It's very good and you will want to come back and have it again. I will always keep coming back and eating at Rose's, because they are very friendly and is a great place to bring the family for a great meal. Pros: Two Thumbs up! more

Colldest breakfast in the land 4/20/2008

Just had breakfast at the Sherwood Rose's Deli. Ham, eggs and potatoes. Some of the potatoes were so cold they must have just came out of the refridgerator, ham was barely warm, the butter was soft but the toast was so cold it would not melt the soft butter. would have been nice of the toast was brought with the meal too. My wife's breakfast came complete she had the veggie omalet which was also cold. She thought perhaps they used a cold plate and she experienced the same type of potatoes as I. she complained about her toast so when mine came we kind of expected it to be hot...NOT. Pros: thumbs down Cons: thumbs down more

BAD Rueben 8/4/2007

I decided to give Rose's a try. This was absolutely the worst Rueben I have had in my life. The corned beef was completely tasteless. I had been warned about the Roses on 23rd in Portland, but didn't think it appled to the whole chain. After I left I noticed a signon the outside that read ""World Famous Rueben"", I would really like to know who determined this. I also noticed the waitress was asking everyone else if they wanted dessert, but instead of asking us, she dropped off the check and returned 30 seconds later and opened the tab holder and asked if we needed change. I have never had the feeling I was being ushered out of a resturant in the past. Despite all this, the bakery looks wonderfull. more

Wonderful food and service 10/23/2006

Wonderful food and service any time you go. Also a plus - this Rose's has a full separate bar for those who wish to sit away from the family crowd. Pros: Food, Bar more
