I have to admit, I didn't read the reviews until after our visit, and I was surprised. Maybe management has changed in the last year? We were visiting Albuquerque, and I brought my kids to the pixie class today. The staff was warm and welcoming, the class was really nice, everyone was polite, it seemed clean... no complaints. We'd definitely go back. more

I have heard a lot of disturbing stories about this company. I have seen employees pick up food off the ground and serve it to their customers as if nothing happened. I've seen them eat while making food. The most disturbing thing that I have seen is when they throw out boxes that the food had come in with month old experation dates on them, AFTER they finished stocking the food that was in them. I have been to several birthday parties that were hosted here, just to see how rude the hostesses are. They just throw the food on the table and rush all the kids to eat so they can just stand around. They don't refill your drinks unless you ask them, and sometimes they don't even do it then. If your child wants to work here don't let them. Many people that have worked there hve been paid for less hours than they actualy worked, and some have goten their tax returns back to find that the whole thingis just wrong and doesn't add up. Word of advice, STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN! more

9 out of 10 times we've gone to Skate City, we were overcharged. We were often charged for a rental, though we've very clearly stated we had our skates. If not overcharged, we paid for two sessions to end up stamped for 1. The ONLY time the manager worked with us when we brought it to his attention, was when we used plastic and could produce a receipt. Which is stupid, since I imagine about 90% of paying customers use cash. It makes it hard not to feel like they rip people off on purpose. \r \r The lesson, if you can, pay with debit/credit so you will have a receipt! OR, pay close attention when paying cash, so if you are overcharged or under stamped, you can get it fixed right then and there. I don't know about anyone else, but this happens to us ALL the time! Thanks Roller King and Staff. I am sad to hear you are closing. Many folks have skated your floor and the best of times were had. You made Roller Hockey work and have been an asset to the community. Beyond all of that you gave a place for youth to go and enjoy good,clean fun. Skaters, young and old, have lost their last place to indoor skate in Albuquerque, and that is sad. I feel lucky to have used your facilities for the past 10 years, always felt welcome and appreciated. I had the worst experience at Roller King. The first time I went there I thought it was just a fluke. The place is dirty and there are too many inconsiderate people there. I have never felt more disgusted at a skating rink. Since I thought it was a fluke, I went back after a few months. I love skating and unfortunately this is the only skating rink i could find in town. Needless to say they kicked me out for skating backwards! there are no rules posted and the manager was very rude when i brought it up to him. They were so worried about me skating backwards that the ref's were not paying attention to any of the little kids that were actually in harms way. Im 25 years old and i feel that i know how to be safe, i had to turn around and help some of the little kids up that were laying in the middle of the floor. Not only is there facility unsanitary but their employees are rude.
