Best GYM in Atlnata!!! 5/14/2012

I have been training seriously now since 1988, and Rock Hard Fitness has one of the best combinations of usefull equipment and serious atmosphere that I have experienced in a long time. I travel quite a bit for business and find myself training at some of the famous gyms like ""Gold's Venice"" and ""Bev's Powerhouse in NY"", and I would put Rock Hard right up there with those top gyms.\r \r I am making measurable gains since coming to Rock Hard, and I believe having the right equipment and the right atmosphere have made that possible.\r \r I can't brag enough on this gym! more

Friendly neighborhood gym!! 6/21/2011

This is a rebuttal to the two 1 star ""reviews"" below, which are very obviously written by the same person. I do not know who this person is but they must have an axe to grind. My wife and I have been members at Rock Hard for almost 5 years now, and one or both of us are there at least 5-6 days out of the week. The only time I have ever seen the owner get anywhere near to what this person is describing is when people don't follow the simple gym rules, or they don't pay their membership fee (and that has only been 1 or 2 times that I have witnessed). So which one of those fits ReAlFiTnEsS/Atllifter?? To everyone else I would say come and give it a try, make up your minds, you won't be sorry! more

There are better gyms out there for the money 10/30/2010

When my gym closed last Christmas, I was in need of another gym that provided me with flexible hours, that didn't have the obnoxious ""disco"" music of fitness classes blaring over the gym music, and that provided me with equipment which could help me meet my fitness goals. When I first went to Rock Hard Fitness to tour the facility, I was happy to see that there weren't any ""fitness"" class areas... that it was a gym. I was a bit hesitant because of the mismatched equipment and the mismatched weights, but I liked the ability to use a keycard to use the gym, and I liked that it wasn't a ""gym-in-a-box"".... rather, it was a real gym. I also liked the fact that you could pay month-to-month instead of signing a contract. Barry and Rock are two of the trainers in the facility, and both of them have been nothing but nice and helpful. Over the past couple of months, the owner, who is a former body builder, appeared to become a bit more ""gruff"" with some of the clients. While I understand that owners of businesses probably hear their share of complaints, I had gone out of my way to be nice to him. I have watched as this behavior has escalated over the past couple of months, and I do not believe it is the type of behavior which will keep a business going. This past week his behavior was ""over-the-top"", and I realized it had become beyond tolerable. I left the gym that morning and found another gym in which I feel appreciated, which offers more services for the same price, has staff who are responsible for picking up after the rude clients who leave equipment scattered around, and has comparable hours of operation. This other gym does have the disco-music fitness classes; however, their rooms are more sound proof than my old gym's. \r \r Overall, Rock Hard was a gym with flexible hours, nice clients, and personable trainers; however, customer service in this day and age will either make or break a business; and I believe that, for the money, there are other gyms out there which can provide much better customer service. more

Average Gym, Poor Customer Relations 10/29/2010

After spending nearly a year at Rock Hard Fitness, I finally got sick of the owner's negative, unprofessional, and downright rude attitude towards his customers.  The gym is nothing fancy, basic, aged free weights, most of them mismatched, and decent machines.  If you're there for a simple workout, it can be readily achieved at this gym.  The majority of the employees, Rock and Barry, are friendly and personable.  The owner, however, is another story.  As a manager in the customer service field, if any of my employees, or myself, ever treated our customers the way this business owner treats and speaks to his, we would be out on the streets, and rightfully so.  In this age of struggling small businesses, and closing gyms, I'd expect to be treated with a lot more respect from a minimum wage employee, let alone the owner himself.  I know of others who have left this gym for the same reasons.  I have since joined a competing gym, a few miles away, where, for the same amount of money, I find myself surrounded by a much broader array of equipment, and I'm treated with respect in a friendly atmosphere from people who obviously appreciate my patronage.  I wouldn't recommend this place of business to an enemy, let alone a friend. more

Great gym if you get inspired by gospel music or the Tom Joyner morning show blaring on the gym's stereo. more
