When I was a teenager my mom called this place to find out how much a checkup would be and sent me with a check she wrote to cover the services. I only found out after the visit that the receptionist had not explained the entire cost to her so my check was over $100 short. If they had properly explained the costs to us we probably would have forgone the gum exam, which is most likely not necessary for a young person in excellent health, or better yet we would have found a cheaper dentist. I beleive the costs should always be discussed upfront with clients (especially those without insurance); and that is rarely how it is.
