I have been to The River's Edge twice and have been very pleased both times. Yes, sometimes the wait for your drink was long, but the restaurant was packed and our waitress couldn't have been nicer. My friend and I ordered the ""bloody edge,"" a house-made bloody mary that was fabulous - loads of blended garlic and nice and spicy. We shared the crab cake appetizer which was seasoned very well. It had shredded crabmeat (not fishy at all) with chopped peppers, onions, and I believe parsley. The outside was fried nice and brown and crispy, while the inside was nice and hot. For our main meal, we had a New Orleans sampler that consisted of red beans and rice, shrimp creole, etouffe, seafood gumbo, and bread pudding, and also the pasta dish (Pasta Marianne?) which was a thin linguine noodle in a cream sauce with crispy chicken. Both were excellent.\r

The next time we went was for breakfast. My friend had the denver omelette and I again had the crab cakes. Our food arrived promptly and was delicious and hot.\r

Both times our server was very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and very much look forward to visiting it again on my next trip to The Big Easy.
