Not Worth the Trouble 10/26/2010

I paid $933.00 a month for short term lease one bedroom. I would have been fine with that price if the service provided by management would have lived up to that standard. Sure, the management is a group of fun, young people, but they messed up the lease because they "forgot" the terms we had agreed on. Also, they said the facility was "secure." My car was broken into the first month I was there. When I reported it they asked what was stolen and when I replied "GPS" they brushed it off and said "GPS Units and iPods are pretty common." This GPS was hidden under my seat with no cords showing. The security they hire to patrol is just on call, I don't think they even make rounds and there are no security cameras to speak of. Some apartments are fairly nice, mine needed new carpet and has some strange yellowness on the walls of my bathroom that comes back even though I scrub it with bleach. Overall, it was a place to live while I was in Indy short term. It wasn't worth the hassle, for that more

Easy this place ain't great!! 10/4/2010

Well for starters I lived at River Crossing for a couple of years. I don't have a problem with the location or the amenities around the place. However, the problem is the staff. There where many occasions where it took them longer than it should to fix an issue with your apartment. Example one: Our ceiling was turning a brown color. I notified them that the ceiling had many brown water wrings and at times you could feel the moisture. They told me someone would be over to check it out. Someone did and they brought a can of white spray paint to cover it up. One week later we had the rings again, I figured since he didn't open a window and spray painted my ceiling the first time. I wouldn't call back and let them know the rings where there a week later. Example 2: Our fluorescent light in our kitchen went out, so I notified the cute girl that worked there. She told me it would be fixed immediately. Four days later I called back and asked that it be replaced. That night there was a note on my door when I got home from work. It reads ""We are out of light bulbs at the moment. It will be replaced when we get some new ones in."" REALLY!! So, I went and bought one and wrote a note that said: ""When you come back to replace the light bulb just set on the counter and I will store this one for when the other one burns out."" Example 3: Two and a half months after I moved out they tried to tell me I owe $1,300 to replace the carpet, but after they subtract the $500 deposit, we only owe $800. Well the carpet did not need replaced for starters. Second they should replace their ghetto carpet in their hallways first. The other major and the biggest problem with River Crossing is that no one told me I had to have my exterminator's license. This place has the worst spider problem of all time. They say you swallow around four spiders a year in your sleep. I didn't need to eat anything else the two years I lived there and I still would have gained the ten pounds I did while living there. Seriously I killed about 7 a day and all they told me is: ?Well we power wash the building."" Anyhow good luck finding an apartment. more

truly great apartments 6/20/2007

I moved into River Crossing 1 year ago and being from the east coast and lost/clueless in the Midwest, River Crossing was a godsend. I am leaving in 3 weeks as I am moving out of state, but I can honestly say this is the best apartment I have ever rented. The office staff is amazing, honest, and goes out of their way to help with even the smallest details. If something breaks, it is repaired by the end of the same business day.\r They even throw a holiday party with free food and booze and have monthly breakfasts so you can meet your neighbors. \r \r I pay $995.00/month for a large 2 bedroom with an awesome view of the water!\r \r The brand new work out room is amazing!!! In the summer, I jog through the neighborhood and the scenery is breath taking with beautiful views of the lake. Downtown is a 20 minute drive away more
