Nice orchard, yummy apples, but can't bring your dog 9/7/2012

I visited Riamede on their opening weekend with my family. As it was early in the season, only a few apple varieties were available to pick, but they had plenty of yummy Galas- my favorite! The kids enjoyed the free hayride and picking the little cherry tomatoes. I asked the staff if we could bring our dog with us next time, and they told us that they used to allow dogs, but they've had to revise their policy and no longer allow dogs on the farm. I guess some folks abused the privilege and ruined it for everyone else... All in all, Riamede was peaceful, clean, and had delicious apples. We'll be back to pick pumpkins later in the season! more

my family and I had an amazing experience at the Riamede farm 7/14/2011

wow! my family and I had an amazing experience at the Riamede farm this morning. We picked over 20lbs of apples. I found it to be super affordable- compared to the competition down the street in Chester. I have to admit though, I wasn't attempting to bring a birthday party, and I did start and finish my apple picking during open farm hours. A small note to the angry customers... farming is really hard work and the profits are slim. There are two sides to every story, but I'm sure that if everyone followed the rules to begin with, there wouldn't be these outbursts. more

we had SO much fun picking apples 7/11/2011

we had SO much fun picking apples this weekend! Of course, it's still early so they only had a few varieties ready (not that it mattered to us, we just wanted to run around and pick some apples. and maybe throw some at each other. whatever.). the staff was very friendly and accommodating (we showed up shortly before they stop letting people in to pick, but they promised not to lock us in thank goodness!) I got about 6 lbs of apples for $8, and they had apple butter (as well as pumpkin, YUM) for about $3 for 8oz jar. We will DEFINITELY be going back for more apples and pumpkin picking! more

I love riamede 7/1/2011

Been going here since i was a kid. great place. regarding the person posting bad reviews... If you went to a mall that closes at 6pm and walked in the doors at 5:50 pm, would you expect the mall to stay open for you until 7? you sound like every business owners worst nightmare, to be honest. more

We had a wonderful time apple picking 6/22/2011

I was at Riamede Farm with my family and friends today and had a wonderful time apple picking. They had a variety of apples and many apples were available for the children to pick. We found the Riamede staff to be friendly and helpful. We'll be back again next year. more

The best selection of apples 6/20/2011

I have been going to Riamede for years and have never once had a bad experience there. We always go there because they have the best selection of apples and a beautiful pumpkin patch. :) more

A trip to Riamede Farms is a fantastic way to enjoy the season 6/17/2011

Though I grew up almost smack in the middle of the apple-picking regions of Warwick, New York and Chester, New Jersey, my family always opted to head south to the Riamede Farm in Chester. This family-friendly spot offers plenty of parking and a wide variety of apple trees, including red and green delicious, empire, gala, and more. The farm is also now offering cherry and plum tomato picking. Entrance to the yard costs a measly $1 and bags cost an additional 50 cents a piece. Short tractor-pulled hayrides transport visitors from the entrance gate to the pumpkin patch, where small wagons await to help you gather your hefty pieces of Halloween spirit. Upon completion of your fun-filled afternoon, you will have to stop in the restored barn to weigh and purchase your fall bounty. Be sure to browse around the building, as they also showcase local gourmet goods, such as jams, sauces, and pies. A trip to Riamede Farms is a fantastic way to enjoy the season and support your local businesses. more

We've been going to Riamede Farm for years 6/15/2011

Its a lovely old place with many apple varieties and a free hayride. We particularly like the Ruby apple. I am appalled that people would write what they have written below clearly trying to harm the business of one of my family's favorite places. However, it might keep the crowds down... more

Great apples 6/10/2011

Great apples - as always!! First - I'd like to apologize to ScoilLauben & Smitty for their poor experiences. I have gone there for 3 weekends this apple season. Have to get my Cortlands, Mutsus & Winesaps! :) Although the orchard is always crowded on weekends, you kinda have to expect that. I mean, come on. You go to the mall Dec. 23, are you expecting to be the only one there?! We always bring our Cavalier King Charles w/us when we go. He has so much fun. Never had an issue bringing him there, and he LOVES playing w/the other dogs he encounters! I know the apple bags they sell have been $.50/each this year when we have gone and we have always been encouraged to bring our own bags!! Their bags do have the "map" of the trees though - so I have one from a couple years back I always bring along w/my canvas ;) !! $1pp (over 12yrs only) admission is charged, which is actually pretty cheap compared to Alstede's & other area farms... Not sure who told you you couldn't use the ATM, I usually hit it if I forgot my ... First - I'd like to apologize to ScoilLauben & Smitty for their poor experiences.
