We used to absolutely love this restaurant . . . we have been going here EVERY WEEKEND for lunch/dinner for many years. But it seems that management has been really inattentive over the last 6 months or so. Example: Yesterday we went there for lunch and had to wait for 10 minutes before the waitress even bothered to take our order. During this 10 minutes she was sweeping and cleaning dirty utensils off the restaurant floor. After she finally took our order (and for some reason she had no knowledge of the menu items), I had to go up front later and ask her to please bring us some water, silverware, and our complimentary chips & salsa. (I found her up front ""chit-chatting"" with the other employees there). We ordered a large cheese dip earlier and she waited to bring it WITH our meals. She then proceeded to spill the cheese dip over much of our table, and we told her to just return the dip to the kitchen because we ordered it for our taco chips and not for our meals. When she wasn't ""visiting"" with the other employees at this restaurant she continued to sweep and pick up various items from the floor. She put the broom and dustpan down and immediately served our meals WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. The food here is still quite good . . . but the service is horrible most of the time. I think management either needs to be attentive to what's going on ... or else there needs to be someone else with better manager skills hired to take care of the service issues. We plan to never return to this restaurant again ... which is disappointing because we do enjoy the food. If the wait staff is allowed to serve food with dirty hands I am really wondering what the cooking staff is allowed to do! more

This is a Friday lunch favorite.\r \r The waiters are definitely not rude, and there was a manager very visibly by the host stand. I speak Spanish, so that may have helped, but even before they knew that we were served promptly and with smiles.\r \r The food is AMAZING. I have been searching for good, nearby Mexican food and I found it! I like the bean/rice/cheese burrito, great Pina Coladas and super cheap lunch Margaritas. \r \r The place itself is a little dingy with tight seating, but the food is worth it! more

Ray Azteca has some of the best Mexican food I have had in this area. True it is a small informal place but we are there for the food. True, the service is not the best and I can see how that would put some people off. The wait staff sometimes appears aloof, but some of that has to do with their limited English. If the food was not good this would be a bigger problem. (They don't use ""dude"" any more..they usually refer to patrons as ""amigo"".)\r \r Certainly the food is superior to anything at the chain restaurants. We have recommended this restaurant to friends who have reported their approval. \r \r This continues to be one of our favorite spots for lunch or dinner. more

I would have to say this is the worst waitor service I have ever had. The waiter introduced himself by saying, ""'Sup dudes."" (and referred to us as ""dudes"" throughout the meal) When it came time to order, I actually had to flag him down as he walked away to ask him if he needed to know what kind of meat and side dish I wanted. There was no manager to mention our problem to, as all staff seemed to be equally amused by my waitor's immature attitude- and the customers behind us tried with no luck. My date's taco salad had a few shreds of lettuce with mostly meat and grease. \r more
