Mediocre service and musty environment. Read fine print on menu for extra fees. Steak was tough and "grilled" onions were almost raw. Would not go back.... more

It was ok! Nothing to rave about. I had the shrimp with plantains. It was very simple & pricy! I've had better!!!!!!! more

I have been to Laurios several times, the food was excellent, they had a manager from the Dominican Republic he was very charming.\r This third visit, they charged me US$8.00 for a plain lemonade!!! I thought that was horrendous, and when I asked, they informed me that everything had gone up in price. I will never set foot there again. The lemonade was not in the menut and I did not want to drink any alcohol. more

Their churasco (skirt steak) is the best I've ever had. Anytime I'm in Miami it's a must. more

My significant other and I dined here on a Tuesday night and the atmosphere was electric. The service was great - on the street was crowded but inside was nicely lit and had a very romantic but exciting feel. Our waiter was knowlegeable on portion sizes and helped us decide what to get. I had a mojito that was on point and Bongo's Famous fried rice that included shrimp, beef, chicken and the most delicious ripe plantains I have ever had. We will definitely be back here. more

By far the best Mojitos I have EVER had...and the Cuban-style roasted pork was to die for...it was so tender and juicy that I never came close to having to use my knife. more

I went to this restaurant with my family who was visiting for christmas, since we were a large group (15 people) we even made a reservation ahead, when we got there the table was not ready, the server was completely rude since the beginning, he talked very nasty to half of the table because they were asking questions about the menu and even worse he was super slow. After waiting for a very long time our food was finally on the table and it was awful, the ceviche \r tasted like a month old, the tostones were not crunchy and a entree with shrimp tasted like a bad dessert. But that's not the worst part, we talked to the manager who seemed completely careless even when we mentioned that the ladies restroom was discusting and dirty, and that a group of girls in there were also talking about the bad experience they were having at the place. The closing point was when the manager went to the table to promise a discount for the whole problem and we told him that we just found 2 cockroach alive on the side of the table, and he said that was normal because they were on the beach and the door was always open! In that moment we all wanted to run out of there! Oh and by the way we never got any discounts for the whole issue even though the manager promised. Overall it was the worst experience ever and the food was terrible, compare to many cubans restaurants I have tried in the 5 years I have lived in Miami, this had bad food at a very high price! Save your money and your health, this place is dirty, have bad service and gross food! Not what I expected from a Glorian Stefan restaurant... more

We come here all the time. Living in Sobe there are only so many Cuban joints nearby. Tonight was just like any other... loads of tourists and limited parking... but we had our usual-Vaca Frita. Its all good. If only the management cared as much about service as we local would like... and then they imply we might want to "add" more tip. No thinks. But we will be back! more

Big Disappointment... Big CHECK! 12/4/2010

I'd gone to this restaurant many years ago and thought it was fantastic, so I rushed to it on my one day in Miami.. What a disappointment! The Mojito was good, but gosh, it was like $14 for a small drink! And I ordered the Churrasco (sp?) steak with the garlic sauce. Had to send it back the first time because it was overcooked and tough. The second one was even worse. It was the cheapest cut of beef I've had in a restaurant!. I make Skirt Steak at home and make it better! I didn't send it back cuz I was hungry, it was edible but not at all worth what they charge for it. It came with bland white rice/beans combo and cold plantains. The service was snooty! The waiter could give a darn about you. I wouldn't go back. Gloria.. you and Emilio should stop in and spend a little time there and see what's going on in your kitchen.. you're not at all what you used to be! more

The best mojitos in Miami and appetizers are pretty good but the food is not very good at all. Maybe since I am Cuban I am being a bit harsh but really the food ranges from below average at best to bad depending on what you order. It's a very nice place though and the staff is pleasant most of the time. more

The ropa veija was excellent. We ate inside beacuse the summer storms were wide open. Larry, our waiter, did us proud. more

Not sure what some of the other reviewers ate but the pulled pork dish is to die for! I've never tasted anything like it! Absolutely the best pork I've ever had and I'm no big fan of pork! more

My wife and I visited Larios on the Beach this afternoon after having it recommended by no fewer than 3 people that have lived in Miami or currently live and work there. These were acquaintences, not close friends that have recommended the restaurant. \r \r We were completely and totally underwhelmed. The food ranged from terrible to passable, but for the price, was a joke and rip off. \r \r We started with the Conch Fritters and Stuffed Green Plantains with Shrimp. The Conch Fritters were a nasty yellow almost tuna fish type taste and smell. Not good and if there is one thing I can recommend, it is to stay away from those. The Stuffed Green Plantains were not good either, but at least they didn't turn our stomachs. \r \r For our meal we split a cuban sandwich, decent but nothing to holler about. Have had better cuban sandwiches many times before, but when throwing ham, pork, cheese, pickle, and some bread, you can't really screw it up too much. The french fries that came with it, were nothing more than overfried ore ida french fries you would get at a grocery store frozen food aisle. \r \r We also had the Cuban Style Skirtsteak, which was cooked well done, although requested medium, and the best part of it was the chimichurri sauce it came with. \r \r My wife got a side of black beans which were fine, and the plantains that came with the Steak were the highlight of the meal. Those were sauteed to perfection and really sweet and good. \r \r The service was slow and crappy, and they kindly add 17% to your bill as a gratuity, so I don't think there is much urgency to them providing good service.\r \r All in all, skip this place. It had 80% positive reviews on Urbanspoon and that along with the recommendations from others had us going, but we won't be back. \r \r Overpriced, low quality, bad service, and food disappointing enough to get me to sign in and leave a review. Dine at your own risk. more

Service was very slow with only 4 tables at the time. The stuffed plantains with ropa vieja were ok but the tamal did not have much flavor. The palomillo steak was dry but the arroz con moros was good. Overall not impressed. My puertorrican mom cooks better Cuban. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 4/6/2010

Food, service, drinks and music all average. Not a bad place for a meal but not very special either. Seems expensive for Cuban food in Miami but I could be wrong. Dissappointing. more
