I worked as an Esthetician for two and a half years at Renaissance and finally quit after having enough. On May 16, 2010, a major hailstorm came through and totalled 9 or 10 employee and client's cars. Every employee began calling their insurance agencies the next day to report the damage. Unfortunately, because of the major damage to the metro area, everyone was backed up. On May 23, I told one of the owners, Marjorie, that I had been in contact with my agency several times, and they would be getting to the car as soon as possible. On May 25, I was told that her husband, Richard, had called a tow to have my car removed from the parking lot. Richard told my husband that it was a "respect issue", and I had no respect for him or the salon because my car was still there and I had been told to move it several times (NOT TRUE). I was never once told or asked to move my car..God forbid that we were allowed to leave our cars there until an adjuster could make it by. My husband left work and drove my car home with the windshields gone and glass all in the car so it wouldn't be towed. This was the final straw after more than two years of a completely thankless work environment. Also, for the record, the cleanliness and sanitation of the salon is not up to state board standards. Sponges are reused on clients during facials until they fall apart, and metal implements are only washed with soap and water, not disinfected and sanitized like they should be. The only thing that keeps that place together are the great employees who work there and put up with Richard and Marjorie's attitude and abuse.
