The Remuda Ranch Center for Anorexia and Bulimia is located in Wickenburg, AZ, however as far as I'm concerned, the place is a piece of heaven on earth.
Remuda Ranch is a former Dude Ranch that was purchased by Ward and Kay Keller. Their own daughter was suffering from anorexia and the purchased it in the hopes that it would offer her a safe haven in which to become well again. They later established it as the Remuda Ranch Center for Anorexia and Bulimia.
In 1996 I was a patient at Remuda Ranch after battling an eating disorder for the better part of 10 years. Remuda Ranch is by far the most comprehensive treatment center for eating disorders. Their program incorporates all areas of treatment including art therapy, Equine (horses) therapy, psychology and psychiatry, one-on-one counseling, group therapy, family therapy and nutritition. Remuda Ranch is a Christian facility.
They have a variety of inpatient programs including 45, 60 and 90 day as well as continued and aftercare programs.
