After driving around Chattanooga for an hour amidst road construction and detours and trying (almost in vain) to find this cafe, I wasn't sure if the place would be worth it. Boy...

Great locale and great experience 10/21/2005

If you have the opportunity to visit Chattanooga, this is a great place to start. It is a part of the Bluff View District. It has two connected. Tony's Pasta which is beer wine and pasta and the Bluff view restaurants which right now includes, wine liquor, beer and crepes. The inn, I have not stayed in but have heard wonderful things about. There is art all around the Inn and the restaurant is excellent. There is also a bocce ball court across the parking lot. There is a small lot out front and on the side of Tony's. more

Cute and quaint 9/22/2005

Nice atmosphere, decent prices, cute eating area outdoors. But the parking is not the greatest. more

Rembrandt's 8/22/2005

Rembrandt's coffee house has great coffee drinks. They also have the most delicious desserts. Their desserts are very reasonably priced and range from truffles to cheese cakes. You can buy entire cakes or just single servings. The café is located in the art district of Chattanooga and it has a cozy atmosphere as well as outdoor dining. more

Tony's Pasta 8/22/2005

Tony's Pasta has excellent ambiance. It is located in the art district of downtown Chattanooga. Their food is good. Their bread is wonderful as is it's dipping oil. Parking can sometimes be a hassle since there are a few other restaurants in the small area. There are great views from Tony's. Definely check out this restaurant. more

Talk about Great Chicken Salad 8/11/2005

this place has the view, the atmosphere and the food. They serve a great breakfast not only great coffee, but pastries and even eggs and bacon. Their lunch is great too. The chicken salad is fabulous. The people are friendly and helpful. It is close to the hunter museum. They have an outside courtyard which is uncovered but great in the spring and fall. Within walking distances of a couple of cute shops as well as downtown. more

Great Inn in a Great Location 8/3/2005

The Bluff View Inn is located in downtown Chattanooga, in the Historic Bluff View Art District. From the Inn you can see the Tennessee River, the Hunter Museum of Art, downtown, restaurants and more. Within the Bluff View Art District, there are two restaurants (one connected to the Inn), a coffee shop, a bakery and an art gallery. The area has a European feel to it and is very charming. The Inn itself is a renovated Georgian home that has been beautifully redone. Rooms are of a good size, and there aren't a lot, so it doesn't feel overcrowded. The staff is very friendly and helpful and great for recommending places to visit, eat, etc. Parking is on the premises as well. This is really a nice place to stay to get a feel for Chattanooga. more

Great place for coffee and dessert 7/29/2005

Rembrandt's is such a treasure in Chattanooga. It is located in the Bluff View Arts District, nestled in amongst the revamped old homes. Inside it is very nicely decorated, although a bit cramped. During nice weather, there is a large brick patio that you can sit out in, as well as the tables and chairs inside. In addition to their coffee, incredible pastries, chocolates and desserts, Rembrandt's also serves breakfast and lunch. I was surprised at how extensive their menu is, from their French toast paninis to yogurt and granola for breakfast. All their food is very good and it's such a nice place to hang out at. Each day they also offer a trivia question and the correct answer will win you a free cup of coffee. Parking is ample in the Bluff View District and while you're there, you can also check out the Sculpture Garden, River Gallery or the Hunter Museum of Art. more

Tonys is the Place for Pasta 7/25/2005

Tony's Pasta Shop, located in the Bluff View Art District, is the place to go for fresh pasta in Chattanooga. The restaurant is set in a converted old home that has seating downstairs, upstairs, outside on a covered patio and also upstairs on a deck. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The menu is not huge, and you'd better be in the mood for pasta, because aside from a few sandwiches and salads, pasta it is. They offer a few already created dishes, as well as the option to customize your order by choosing the type of pasta, sauce and anything additional you might want to add. Beware, they also bring out delicious home made bread and olive oil and cheese beforehand and it is easy to fill up on that. Rembrandt's Coffee House provides their desserts and they are delicious. After dinner you can stroll through the art district, walk in the sculpture garden or go to Rembrandt's for one last coffee. It's a very charming little corner of Chattanooga and well worth a visit. more
