if you have no insurance John Muir Hospital inflates your bill over 600% . The billing department is the lowest of low. Even with legal help it is a slow and painful journey down a blind ally. Try to negotiate with what appears to be a massive bureaucracy. Your stay will cost you an unbelievable $35,000 per day. Even if you ask for a cost estimate before hand you will be provided with little or no information about the bill. it comes in the mail 2 days after being discharged. I would rather die than set food in John Muir Hospital again. If you have great , full coverage medical insurance , be there guest ! If you are one of the 8 million uninsured in California be warned . Your life will never be the same. more

great hospital 8/19/2005

and not just because I was born there! I also did a couple of summer internships there as a high school student, and have nothing but good things to say about this first class facility. Their maternity center (where I worked) is beautiful and new, and nurses are very friendly. Great location and if your insurance offers John Muir and surrounding medical offices as an option, be sure to take it because it really is the best in the area. more

john muir hospital 7/31/2005

john muir medical center is a level 2 trauma center, which receives accidents, gun-shot wounds and other traumas everyday. they also treat other emergnancy. they are the best hospital in the contra coasta county. the staff there is very freindly and work very hard to make the pateint stay as peasant as possible. more
