I beg you to read this and listen to blindsidedmom - I had the same experience. Rich took 80% of our money, did 20% of the job - came back and took his ladder while we weren't home and never came back. He also makes you write your checks out to him personally versus his business. Don't use this guy! more

I'll start off by saying that the previous posts by ""football mom"" and ""swim mom"" are a marketing ploy used by this disreputable contractor. As I was lured originally by the fictitious positive reviews and fake photos on the R and R website, I'd forewarn anyone considering hiring this company to examine its background, specifically that of its owner, Rich Carpenter. Our home is certainly improved following Rich's departure, however, this is only because our homeowners' insurance has allowed us to replace or refinish all of the damaged items and fixtures( not to mention carpets, cabinets, hardwood floors and railings) that Rich personally destroyed in his brief stint in our home. He continued to berate and blame his employees (who went unpaid ) when they attempted to properly cover our belongings. This was a huge mistake as Rich (who personally painted everything) is the worst painter (splatters everywhere!) and business owner I've ever encountered.\r Aside from the lack of quality I have mentioned, he also helped himself to personal items in our home including my jewelry in my closet, medicine in our vanities, and even stealing and swapping our paint. \r I am appalled by the obviously made up reviews on this site.\r Last but certainly not least, he exited my home quite violently causing alarm to my children and me when I refused to give him his final check after surveying the damage left to my home. Hope this helps someone else to avoid the aggravation this contractor caused us, and would be happy to forward photos. more

I hired R&R Painting to do a fairly major project at my home that involved both exterior and interior work. I initially contacted them because I was impressed by the many photos of previous projects on the company's website. I was pleased with R&R Painting from the start, as Rich Carpenter (the owner) was on time for the estimate, took the time to thoroughly and patiently address all of my many questions and concerns and emailed me the quote within 12 hours. I then contacted several references and heard many favorable reviews. Rich's price was within my budget so we decided to go ahead with R&R Painting. My husband and I are both very, very pleased with the final results. Our house looks absolutely fabulous! Rich was a very clean, tidy painter; he thoroughly cleaned up behind himself daily and was very careful about the storage of any materials, as we have 2 young children and 2 dogs so this was understandably a concern of mine. The job was completed on time, on budget and the end result is exactly what we wanted and were expecting. What more could you ask for? I would not hesitate to hire Rich and R&R Painting in the future and would recommend them without hesitation to my family and friends. more

I first approached Rich and was a little nervous, because I had a complex job, and not a lot of cash to spend. The job included three connecting rooms with 10 foot ceilings and exposed beams. After discussing his daily rate, I explained that I really needed him to paint the walls and the beams, but I could probably do the trim myself. He agreed to complete the walls and beams for my budget amount and any time he had left over he would start on the trim. Well....he and his assistant were so efficient they got the whole job done! Including double coating all of the trim! \r \r It looks incredible!!!!\r \r I had read all of the reviews posted here ahead of time, including the post by Karen0304. Clearly, it wasn't deleted as she insisted it would be. All of the other reviews were so great that I decided to give him a chance and I am really glad I did! I have worked in the service industry myself and know that you can't please everyone all the time. If you look at 5 star restaurants and hotels, you will always find a random 1 star review mixed in with the dozens of 5s. \r \r I actually approached Rich about the negative review, which he was very willing to discuss, and he explained the situation to me. He mentioned that he had let Karen walk around the job and make sure she was happy before he was paid and left. That he had discussed the option of doing a third coat and the cost involved before he left, and that she had insisted that it looked fine. He also mentioned that he thought his offer to do a third coat, after the fact, something that was not included in the original bid, was very fair since it included the price of the paint.. \r \r All I can say for sure is that Rich did a fabulous job, in a timely manner, for the price we agreed upon. I would hire him again in a minute, and would refer my friends to him.\r more

We hired R&R to paint a bedroom. At the completion, he requested final payment. Paint was still wet,, as it dried though, the color that was originally on the wall ( pastel Green) could still be seen. We called to see if he could come out to do an extra coat on two of the smaller walls, but Apparently an extra coat would cost 75.00 on top of the 650.00 we already paid. Funny, i thought a ""professional"" painter would have known that he needed either primer or extra coats in the original bid. Feel free to contact me for pics. I am sure he will delete this review as well. What a shame that there was such a lack of professionalism here. Of course we have no recourse b/c the ink wasnt even dry on the check and he had already cashed it. I would not recommend using him if you expect it to be done right. more

Very nervious about contractors - We found Mike Tyrell from Collegeville, Pa. on Service Magic - seemed like a ""nice Guy"" - he destroyed our home, Mike started our home April 8th and never finished - Mike doesn't know how to lay ceramic tile, he waters down his paint, and he as a very poor work ethic. Mike doesn't work more that a couple hours a day and no more than two or three days in a week. -- We also found Rich's company on service magic - we chose Rich not only for all the five star reviews, but the photos of his work on his website are beautiful. Rich has done an outstanding job. He has fixed all the painting issued that Mike created. Rich's prices are fair, he explained everything, worked clean and the most important thing for my wife and I is that Rich showed up on time everyday! From the first day Rich came to our house on Sept 8th, he gave us a start date, and a date the project would be complete. He finished on Time! The painting in our home is absolutely beautiful!!! Rich and his crew were on time and on budget! I had 35 condominium exteriors to get done in the Rhondda development in Exton , and after reviewing literally a hundred contractors I chose him for the job, not just because of the high quality materials and paints he was going to use, but how he handled himself. Rich was very focused and professional, and took the time to explain all aspects of the job to all involved. Rich had to deal with 35 different personalities and needs of each customer, and he handled it with flying colors. From the first day to the last day, he handled the job professionally, and tastefully. Any problems that arose were handled quickly and in a very professional manner, every condo owner was pleased with the end result. I would recommend this company for both large and small jobs, this is one top notch painter, and one top notch company. I have already booked him for more units in the springtime. I hired a company called Wagner painting , got them from a service magic company online, he seemed nice enough and the price was great, but I guess you get what you pay for. Mike Wagner and his rude mexican nearly ruined my house, I hired him to paint a two story foyer a hallway and master bedroom, he assured me he would use quality paint and I find out he was using a product from Sherwin Williams called master hide, I found out its not premium but builders grade! He then assured me he would protect my furniture and my new rugs, those slobs got paint on everything, I was in awe at what they had done then Mike tried to tell me it was old paint ON A NEW RUG???Needless to say I had my husband through the bums out of my house, they are fraudulant lieing slobs! I looked for painters and R&R popped up and I read some of their reviews visited his website, and Gave Rich a call he was kind, courteous, and professional. He told me you get what you pay for, and for what I needed done was a bit more then I was charged from Wagner, so I decided after meeting with him, his referrals he provided and his website this is the company for me. I would let him fix what Mike messed up. The first day Rich and his brother sanded the unsanded Spackle and redid the spackling that did not get done right in the first place, he got up all the paint Mike and his helper got all over my rugs and furniture. This company pulled out all the stops Rich really knows this business his cut-lines are incredibly straight, he used Sherwin Williams Super paint and Cashmere on my walls, and the Spackle job he did I cant even tell there were holes there at all. My house looks like new! I am so pleased with the job they came in and fixed, I am just ecstatic. I recommend this company because they are top notch the best of the best! I thank God their are still contractors who are honest and take pride in what they do, it is a shame there are so many painters etc that are fly by night operations and are dishonest, and do not know what they are doing. I would like to highly recommend Rich and his crew, who went above and beyond my expectations!\r \r They were neat and clean did an outstanding job spackling sanding then painting my powder room, foyer, master bedroom, master bathroom, and family room, they cleaned up every day, and it was like they were never there!\r The job they left behind was professional, and done past my expectations, Rich and his crew made sure I was happy, I had a bad experience with Dan Dolby painting, and was skeptical of any other painters, Dan basically ripped me off, at the end of the job I paid him just so he and his sloppy crew would leave my house!\r \r Rich came in and I knew right away he was honest, and his prices where very competetive, not only did he fix the mess Dan left, he made my house like new!\r I will recommend this company to everyone!\r \r Thanks Rich! I first found him online here, after some research I found his number to be 610 323 8323 not the one listed.\r I first meant Rich this summer, and looked into his referrals, they all checked out \r His quote was a little higher then the other folks, but he assured me he only used top of the line products, and gave a two year guarantee on his work.\r I decided to use him and I will tell you from start to finish, these guys did an outstanding job, they showed up on time and finish when they said they would, my house looks brand new, and I am thrilled that I found this company!\r I will be calling them back in the winter to paint my interior Pros: great service more
