Don't take your pets here! 5/8/2011

We took our cat in for a tooth cleaning and thought she may have some bad teeth. Only met Dr. Amsbaugh, though he told me he wouldn't do the surgery. They had her all day, finally got a call from Dr. Geibel saying he'd be taking out 5 teeth and it would be $50-75 a tooth, didn't mention any other expenses. Finally could get her after 7 pm and was shocked to hear he'd removed a potential tumor from her mouth and wanted to do biopsy. Also, completely shocked to be billed $995. Biopsy came back as squamous cell carcinoma, told me we should do follow-up for free. Did that about 2 months later, had noticed her eye tearing on same side as tumor removal. Dr. Geibel charged me for the visit because he said it was a separate issue and said there was no re-growth of tumor and she had pink eye. Of course, both statements were total lies. Her eye has been tearing because of cancer regrowth and spreading. She has lost all her teeth on upper right side, can hardly eat, and Dr. Geibel left unstiched open wounds for the cancer to spread. She's lost bone mass in her jaw and other vets we've taken her to said she'll die soon. Thanks Dr. Geibel for charging us a ton and killing our beloved Kitty. more

Attentive and compassionate 8/13/2010

Good: Dr. Felrice took wonderful care of my dwarf hamster. He was remarkably patient and took time to answer all of my questions, and explained the purpose of each medication and procedure he performed. I felt confident that my pet was in good hands through her surgery.. Improvements: The practice could really use a website!. more

Dr. Amspaugh was incredible 6/26/2009

Dr. Amspaugh is the best vet we ever had. Our cat, Friskie hated 98% of all vets we've visted. Dr. Amspaugh is in the 2%. We had to put Friskie to sleep last year. We are so thankful that he was our vet for this very difficult time. Dr. Amspaugh was very caring and conscientious. He did not try to pressure us to get any expensive procedures that would have only prolonged our cat's suffering. He also came in on Sunday morning, when the office was closed, to care for Friskie. He showed us how to administer some of the medicine rather charge us to do it. He was always respectful and he got second opinions without us asking. During our Friskie's last two weeks, he called us at home several time to make sure he was comfortable. On the day Friskie was put to sleep, Dr. Amspaugh calmly and lovingly walked us through everything; how the shot would be given, all the way to the burial arrangements. Finally, he spoke us all the way through Friskie's final breath. He then left the room to allow us to grieve in private. After 5 minutes or so he came back. He then spoke with us about Friskie and shared some memories of his own about him. As he spoke, he had tears in his eyes, too. He insisted we not pay that day; we could come back later. Finally, as my wife and I were about to leave, we expected the obligatory handshake. No. He gave us both a big hug; a heartfelt hug. You can't imagine how special that was. A year later that memory still brings tears to my eyes. When you go to Quince Orchard INSIST on Dr. Amspaugh. Wait for him if you have to. In our opinion, you will not find a better vet anywhere. I can't speak for any of the others vets there, but if Quince Orchard would hire him, I have to think that the rest of the staff can't be all bad. more

Completely Unreasonable 9/5/2008

Don't go here. My twenty dollar Iguana had a cyst on his mouth. After their awful doctor burned-off half his head, then put him on life support, they (QOVH) charged me $800.00 dollars for murdering my $20.00 pet. They are criminally insane and should be avoided at all costs. more
