Management Issues 2/7/2012

So many of the former parents will second disappointed2012's opinion. The management under BriChelle is beyond horrible. Many children were placed in unsanitary and at some point even dangerous conditions. There were too many incidents to even list here, from a toddler being locked out in the playground by themselves, serious medical issues that happened at this school were the parents weren’t notified until hours later (and then lied to), etc. Thankfully we also found a wonderful school for our children after we left Primrose. more

Poor Management... 1/31/2012

My daughter was at this location for 8 months (starting at 6 ½ months old). There are many issues with this location, which stem from the owner primarily and the director. They have a really high turn over rate with their staff, which should have been a red flag very early on. The owner, Brishelle is just about business, and she makes decisions that impact the children based on her bottom line. My daughter started walking at around 10 months, and just days before she turned a year old, I was informed three days in advance that she would be transitioned to the young toddler room. I had concerns about the abrupt decision, and I was assured that the transition would be a gradual process over the course of a week or longer if needed. Her first day, rather than spending a couple of hours in the toddler room, she was left there for the whole day. Their written policy even states that they would inform parents of transitions 2-3 weeks in advance. Due to most of the toddlers transitioning from the young toddler room the the 18 months plus toddler room, we were again advised that my 14 month old daughter would be “transitioned” again to the new room because they were going to convert the young toddler room to an infants room (due to the very small class size). We were informed two days in advance. The first week in the consolidated toddler room, my daughter came home with a burn on the palm of her hand with blisters on her fingers, followed by a severe diaper rash 2 days latter. The raised rash covered her genital area, inner thighs, and the back of her thighs. She had not been wiped properly, as there were remnants of what was clearly a loose bowel movement. It looked as if she had been left in her last diaper for an unreasonable period of time, resulting in a terrible rash with some abrasions. The standard “nobody saw anything” answer was provided when I questioned the director and the, and there were no concerned inquiries about how my daughter was doing. The owner is extremely dishonest and vindictive – even pretending that she didn't see the rash (which I photographed and video taped). After we filed a complaint with their corporate office, the atmosphere became very tense with the owner and director (who is typically very aloof anyway). My daughter's items were packed up and she was disenrolled without notice. I reported this to the corporate office, and the owner tried to present me with a letter when I picked by daughter up on the day that she verbally informed me would be my child's last day (because we were unhappy). We were already in the process of finding a new child care option, so that final act reflected how little she regards the children at her center. I also found out that this location isn't even implementing the curriculum that we were paying for. We should have received a CD (as part of a series) with educational music as an integral learning tool that needed to be reinforced with parents at home etc. Existing and prospective parents need to be aware of this. Please look elsewhere. This location is appalling. We found a new location with warm and caring staff, especially at the management level, and my daughter is very happy. more
