WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE!!!!! 8/5/2008

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. The service was a total disaster, no one know what they were doing, it took forever to even get a drink order right, we had to wait for our table for 45 min, when all they had to do was clean it off.. ... and to top it off Jean Luc (the owner ) was there the whole night but just didnt give a damn to rectify the situations. Every single table complained on the way out. The owners attitude was so cocky and obnoxiuos, he felt that he owns a few resteraunts out there(madame tongs. being one) so they all cant be the best !! The nerve of him. As a buisness owner myself, you should strive to make every place just as good as the next. He stood outside the door with the worst possible attitude, and instead of apologizing, he laughed and said oh well.....the place needs work. and then went on to tell us it wasnt that bad...As a succesful Buisness ownder myself I was in total amazement. I was waiting for candid camera to jump out at us! more

We thought it was a cruel reality show..... 8/4/2008

I went to Prime 103 in the summer of 2007 and had a wonderful dinner. This past weekend, with a party of seven, we thought we were the joke of a cruel reality show. When we arrived we noticed that the fun atmosphere was no longer present and the back room that had a very hip/ trendy vibe was closed. We asked the bartender why it was not opened and he said lack of staff and reservations. At that point we knew it was going to be a long night. As I looked at the tables dining it appeared EVERYONE was complaining and there was hardly any wait staff present. We sat down anyway and it began to get worse. The entire dining room was chaos and our waiter (imported from Jean Luc's other restaurant Madam Tong's) even admitted the kitchen was terrible and he didn't even know how the menu worked. Apparently they were trying some sort of "pre fixed menu". It was kind of funny because they had a single sushi roll as an entree. I further witnessed tables walking out and then the owner himself in the dining room! He was walking over to each table trying to smooth over the guests but instead he was attacked by disgruntled Hamptonites! Finally, we got our food and it was terrible. My salmon looked and tasted like it had been cooked for two hours and was over salted. The steaks were burnt and dry. The "sushi" entrees were TINY. The only thing that was remotely edible was the martinis and then we found out they were $20 each! Needless to say, I do not recommend this restaurant or any other Jean Luc restaurants for a night out. You will end up spending over $100 per person for a headache and an empty stomach! This place will probably be shut down within the next two weeks. Pros: Nothing Cons: wait staff, food, bar, price, menu more

Don't pay any attention to those bad reviews 8/12/2007

After reading some bad reviews and articles, I second guessed even going to this hyped up restaurant, but I figured I would just prepare myself for bad food/great scene a la Cipriani. I found the exact opposite. The food was amazing, from appetizers to entrees and desserts. Don't mind that the place hasn't changed one iota from when it was JL, it doesn't make a bit of difference in how great this place is. The bartender was fresh off the pole, and not in a bad way. Our waiter was a total Argentinian cutie. The hostesses were very nice and even moved us to another table when we were unhappy with the configuration of our first table. The only bad thing about this place was that it wasn't as "sceney" as I expected and the service was a little too prompt with food. I highly recommmend this place. Pros: Food, Bartenders, Service Cons: JL etched glass in the main room and JL matches more

Best Desserts! 7/14/2007

Had a great meal! Waiter , Anthony was very accomodating and everything was prepared perfectly. The people at our table had a variety of entree's from the Porterhouse, veal chop, salmon and everyone enjoyed their meal thoughly. Loved the mac and cheese side! Wasn't rushed and we decided to order one dessert for 5 people as we were pretty full from the meal. We told the waiter how much we enjoyed the dinner and he brought over the chef. When they brought the one dessert we ordered, they brought one of every dessert on the menu. Each one was better than the next. Can't wait to go back. Pros: service, food, desserts Cons: none more

Fun Place, Great Food!!! 6/26/2007

We came on a Saturday Night, and the restaurant was packed, We had to wait for our table for about 20 minutes, but we didn't mind having some cocktails.. The service was a tad slow, but the waiter was trying his best to accomadate our neeeds. We waited a bit for our food, however it was well worth the wait. We enjoyed sushi platters for appetizers, and indulged in some great tasting flavorful steaks. To top our night off we treated ourselves to some fantastic desserts including the chocolate trio. Over all the experience was pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a a quality food with a fun atmoshpere. Pros: Food, Steak Especially, Ambience Cons: Service alittle slow more

Worse place in East Hampton 6/24/2007

This place was awful. The service was really slow and food so-so at best. JL and his staff could care less when we complained. I will never set foot in any of his establishments! Pros: nada Cons: service, food, attitude, etc.... more

Be prepared. The service is pathetic and they don't really care how bad it is. 6/23/2007

9 p.m. reservation. Seated for dinner at 10:15. Served dinner at 11:20, but only after threatening to leave. They didn't comp anything. They didn't apologize. They only offered excuses, which had nothing to do with us wanting to simply eat a nice meal. Food is ok, nothing special. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Expensive and very poor service. Pros: NIce ambience. Cons: Don't care one bit about the customer. more

Terrible Service, Good Kitchen 6/11/2007

I feel bad for the guys in the kitchen at this place, because the servers are doing everything they can to make sure you don't enjoy their food. As my companions' dinners were being served, I was told that my choice was no longer available. There were no apologies, no offers to comp anything thing from the waitress. Finally after 20 minutes of haggling, a manager offered to bring free sushi which appeared after everyone else was finished eating. To top it all off, I was still charged for my dinner! At the table next to us, only one round of drinks ever showed up during a 2+ hr dinner. Two tables down, the wrong sushi rolls were continually showing up; they got a their dinner comped and a free bottle of wine, so the restitution is pretty uneven. The restaurant also ran out of bread. Oh the list just goes on. Save your money for someplace else. Pros: good food Cons: service, management, waitstaff attitude more
