What a Disappointment 12/30/2011

Saw a wonderful review online with picture of five scallops covered in crabmeat, surrounded by tomato. Made reservations for early seating. Were seated in empty restaurant at a middle table for 4 with 2 chairs removed so we had to sit facing a view of the parking lot. When we asked to move to a side table, were told party of 60 coming later, (we were told that at least 5 times throughout the evening) can't move you. 5 minutes later, two women came in and sat at side table. After ordering, on of the servers came by and asked if I had ordered the scallops/crabmeat dish. He told me how lucky I was because only one serving was left. We were first ones there and they were already out of food? When it arrived, 4 plain scallops with a sprinkling of crab flavored breadcrumbs on top. No tomato. Mostly empty plate. Lots of onions. Servers acted like they could not wait until we, the early people left, so they could prepare for the party of 60 expected later. Miserable experience and will not repeat. more

Mediocre food. Pasta sauce tasted like it was from a jar and contained barely any meat. Pasta is NOT homemade. Bread is not baked on premises. Servers are not trained to deal with diners who have allergies. Water is not filtered and is undrinkable. Decor is old and depressing. The only other diners were senior citizens who seek "early-bird specials" which says it all. There are other Italian restaurants in Fort Lauderdale that are much, much better. more

Chef Giacomo Dresseno from Lake Como is the Chef Owner of Primavera. It's less than desirable location forces Chef Giacomo to focus on a large banquet business and inexpensive but great bargain prixe fixe menus to draw in business. What you get is good, reliable Italian food, albeit in more of a banquet style quality than the Chef is cabable of doing. Whether you a looking for a realiable neighborhood Italian restaurant with some occasional outstanding deals, or looking to put together a group dinner at a very reasonable pric, Primavera is worth considering. more

Best italian cuisine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 2/13/2008

We highly recommend this place. The food is delicious, great ambience and lots of parking. My husband who is italian, wish to dine to Primavera Restaurant every time he wants to eat authentic italian food like his mother used to make for him. We've traveled all around Italy and this place is the only place in Ft. Lauderdale that is close to taste of a real italian food that was served in Rome, Venice, Florence and Milan during our travel. We made a reservation for tomorrow's Valentine's day as where my husband wants to celebrate. Buon appetito everyone! Pros: great ambience, delicious food, great service, lots of parking Cons: a little pricey but it's worthed every bite more

Sublime food and extraordinary service. Can be a bit pricey, but the prix fixe (Taste of Primavera) dinner is quite a bargain. Pros: Service, Food Cons: Value more

good experience 12/26/2002

The service was excellent, the server staff actually all work together as a team. The food was very good... not the best that I have had, but still somewhere on the top of the list. However, the price is also on the top too...one of the more $$$$ Italian Restaurant, such as $10 for a bowl of soup. If you are looking for a good dining experience, and don't mind paying more for it, give it a try, they also have a very WIDE range of wine selection. Pros: good service Cons: Expensive more
