i must give a shout out to the most fabulous hairdresser ever!!! perry is awesome!!! i was out dining one evening and met some of the staff of preston salon...they were handing out discount cards to people they met...i was definitely one of them who needed a change! i was actually very excited to go to my appointment. their staff was so sweet! ive learned that the hairdressers have been there for sometime now, like perry... i think around 15 years..that obviously says something about the establishment, and the owner...so i feel very lucky to have perry as my new dresser, i know he has a full clientel already!! so, i definitely recommend this super fun, super trendy, super nice atmosphere, preston salon!! and my new color and cut is awesome!!! Pros: trendy, fashionable, positive energy, welcoming, talented, large menu for hair and skin Cons: i wish they served diet soda more

I don't normally take the time to do these things, but in this case, i have to give credit where it is do....preston salon spa deserves it!!! i have recently moved to the downtown area of st. louis...i did read the reviews to chose where to go for my hair, skin, waxing, everything!!! i like to do it all in one day due to my insane schedule...well the experience was more than i expected!!! i received my facial waxing, then treatment for my face with collagen, and followed with my color, cut, and style...talk about a 1 stop shop!!!!....and so professional... it was such a fun, outgoing, layed back, not at all snobby atmosphere....i'm already booked again in 4 weeks!!!!!! love you prestons!!!! Pros: the stylists and estheticians are highly experienced and know what there are doing Cons: i guess if i have to list one, it would be parking...but thats not even a con! more

So it used to take me FOREVER to style my hair after I showered. I would have to put product in, blow dry it for a ridiculously long time, more product, flat iron the heck out of it, more product, etc. It was a long process to try and straighten my hair and reduce the frizziness. Well, I have been a long time client of Preston Salon. I told the stylist I wanted to chop my hair off because of the length of time it takes me to style it. I rarely did my hair. I always just threw it up. Steven (owner) convinced me to try a new process he has that told me would drastically reduce the amount of time it took me to fix my hair. It is the Keratin Process. A week later, I was scheduled and ready to go. Angela is the one who did the treatment on my hair. People's hair is made of Keratin and the process simply puts Keratin back in your hair. Anyway, the first time I washed my hair, I began to blow dry it. Not even kidding, it took 5 minutes to blow dry! I did not need any product, I did not need to flat iron my hair, I could even leave it damp and it stayed styled! Since then, I have not worn my hair up! I fix my hair all the time and receive tons of compliments on how soft, shiny, and not frizzy my hair is! This is a revolutionary hair process and I HIGHLY recommend it if it takes you a long time to do your hair! It is the best thing I have ever done for my hair and love every minute of it. I had heard great things about Preston Salon so was excited to give it a try. First I told the stylist that I wanted to grow my shoulder length hair long. She proceeded to hack my hair into a Carol Brady shag/mullet! In order to fix that, she chopped it up to my ear....on one side. I was so upset that I didn?t realize until I got home the other side was 2 inches longer. So much for growing my hair long! To be fair, I did not go back and give them a chance to fix this as I have hardly any hair left to work with and would rather walk around with uneven hair than step foot in that salon again! Cons: Overpriced cut, Unskilled stylist who did not listen more

I am not sure how this salon received such high ratings from all the other reviewers... My cut was terrible! In the back of my hair along the bottom there was a chunk that was an inch and a half shorter than everything else - it wasn't blended into the rest of the cut at all. They charge like they know what they are going and carry great products, but don't be fooled!!! Even if the cut were free I wouldn't go back to this salon. more

I had an idea of what I wanted my hair to look like and brought in a picture to show my stylist. He was able to work with my natural wave and my hair looked exactly like the picture! My husband loves my hair so much, he can hardly keep his hands off of me! I am terrible at styling my own hair, but with my new 'do, I just put a little moose/wax in and it looks perfect every time. I highly recommend Preston Salon to anyone and will definitely be going back! more

IRINA ROCKS! One day about 2 years ago I was going out-of- town for a wedding and needed a cut. Preston's fit me in on a Saturday, and I've never looked back. Irina's first cut was amazing, and she has been nothing but stellar ever since. Besides being a great stylist, she is fun, a good conversationalist, and an interesting person. The shop, Preston's, has great energy and fantastic people. So, thanks Irina and Preston's...you rock... Pros: fun place; relaxing; talented stylist; good parking Cons: cann't think of any more

I have been a client at Preston for over a year now. Everytime I leave I look amazing. Recently I decided to try a new look. I've been trying to grow out my hair for some time now and feel like it is just at that point where it won't grow. So, I decided to get hair extensions. Terry, my original stylist colaborated with Chrissy who does extensions on my makeover. Terry decided to take me a little more natural golden blonde like Carmen Electra with low lights as well. After my color was finished I already felt amazing. My blue eyes really did stand out more and my hair looked even shinier. I came back a few days later for the extensions with Chrissy. The whole process took under seven hours which is totally worth it because the hair last around 6 months. Everyone in the salon stopped by to say how amazing I looked and I really did resemble Carmen Electra! Now I've had the extensions in for over a month and have gotten used to styling them. Going out and getting dressed up is really exciting...I can flat iron, curl, wear them wavy. I feel really great and am so thankful to Terry and Chrissy for making me look amazing. Preston salon is by far the best place to go in Clayton. I'll be back for sure! Pros: They always recommend what will look best on you. more

I think I've tried it all here in St. Louis, but I was just not getting that WOW FACTOR . My bestfriend was always getting the compliments on her hair and I was wondering why I wasn't. So, I finally decided to try out her stylist. I sat down with Irina, my colorist, and Preston, who would be cutting my hair. This was the first time I would be having more than one person working on my hair...I was really nervous. They liked me blonde, but felt I was a little bleached out looking and one tone from years of straight highlighting. When Irina came over with the bowls she had more than one. She gave me a baby blonde, honeyblonde, and warm brown just a shade above my own. After getting a fabulous shampoo from one of the assistants, Irina mixed up a gloss to put over my hair for shine and condition. At this point I felt really comfy with my decision to try something new...even though I would still be blonde. I sat down in Preston's chair and immediately felt happy. He told me he loved long gorgeous locks and would only shape up my hair and give it body. I even went with the long sidebangs that I have been dying to try. I laughed through the entire haircut as Preston told me stories. I had just broken up with my boyfriend and he told me that he'd be calling as soon as he saw my new look. Preston and his assistant double teamed up and gave me an amazing blowout that lasted almost three days. I felt like a million bucks! I have now been back every other month since January and my hair has never felt and looked so good. Everyone that leaves Preston Salon looks amazing walking out the door. I am so glad that I found this place. Having receintly moved here from Colorado I was very excited to hear of a stylist who was also from Colorado!! Terry did a wonderful job with my highlights and cut. She made sure to listen to what I really wanted, since I was a little nervous going to someone new. She has had many years of experience with color, so my highlights came out just the way I wanted!! I will defiently be back to see her and will recommend anyone I meet here to follow!!!! more

Preston salon offered everything my home salon in NYC did. They carry Kerastase and Bumble and Bumble, two exclusive product lines that I adore. My visit included color from Chrissy which was amazing. I was so suprised when she suggested doing something besides the usual full highlight for my blonde locks. We took a different approach that had me out of her chair and into the sink in less than 30 min. From there I had personalized highlights painted onto my hair that took less than fifteen minutes. When I walked into Preston Salon, I am always greeted by a helpful and friendly front desk staff. I've had my hair cut by two different stylists and each time, it turned out better than I hoped. They always seem to be on edge of fashion and the cuts, colors, and highlights make me feel so good every time I go. I highly recommend this salon to others because of the quality of service, pleasant atmosphere, and great location! They also have Keristase Hair Products, which I love! more
