I was so happy when Geoff came to fix my garage door. My door was broken and I could not park my car in it. I didn't like parking it on the street.

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/13/2012

NESideMom was right. We had them come out to replace a garage spring that they were running a special on - $145 for the whole service. Jared just called and informed us the other spring needed to be replaced and it is always recommended that this be done and the 2nd spring would be an additional $60 (If it is always recommended, why do they only quote 1 spring?). He gave me the same sales pitch, bearings are bad, will cut through the tube, rollers need replaced, safety hazard etc. and wanted to sell us a package for the door for $649. You have been warned, this is unethical practice, call a different company. more

Buyer Beware! 10/21/2011

On 10/06/11, Jared of Precision Door came as our garage door opener was making a sqeaking noise, but otherwise working fine. I was told the service call was $80 and covers assessment/some maintenance. After lubricating the sprocket, the door quieted. Jared said the sprocket was grinding/wearing down bcuz the spring needed to be replaced. He could replace it for $300. After taking it apart, he stated the bearings were bad & also needed replacing. Jared said if we didn't replace the bearings, it could cut through the hollow steel bar and the door could fall at anytime causing injury. Jared offered a package deal for $599 covering the spring, bearings & rollers with a lifetime warranty. Shocked a 5 year old door needed major repairs, I contacted the original installer, Overhead Door of Indianapolis, to inquire of their warranty. The door was out of warranty but they would replace the spring for $125 and bearings for $25, & the service rep told me if bearings were bad the door would jump all over (which wasn't happening). I felt like I was being sold both products and services that were not necessary. I asked them to put the door back as found and I would need nothing further. Jared was argumentative and continued to pressure me, now offering 2 springs for $200. I was not comfortable doing business with them and then Jared wanted to charge me $89 for adjusting the spring -5 min of work- (which he claimed was broken) and $80 for a service call. On 10/10/11, David from Overhead Door, came to replace the spring. However, upon inspection, David determined the spring was not broken, bearings did not need replacing and the sprocket was not worn. David made a few minor adjustments for a total charge of $59.95. He also indicated he could replace the entire door with tax & insatllation for $650. I believe Jared/Precision engaged in deceptive practices and fraud by attempting to pressure me into buying parts and services which were not necessary. If I could select NO stars, I would have done that!\r \r more

Prompt & competent 5/11/2011

Thanks for the prompt (same day) service. Josh did a fine job, quoted costs prior to the repair and performed the service taking care to protect my car and cleaning up his mess afterward. I would use Precession again. more

Great service - Highly recommend them 4/27/2011

My door fell and they were there quickly and fixed it completely. I did not feel pressured to do more than I wanted. They are guaranteed for life so now I will never worry about my door. They will take care of it! What peace of mind. more

All Around BAD Company 8/19/2010

As a former employee of Precision, I read reveiws and cringe at the thought that I ever worked for such a horrible and dishonest company. more

Good Service, Fair Price 4/25/2010

They arrived same day and on time, gave up front accurate cost, and repaired my door in a timely manner. Garage door works great, and I received a lifetime warranty on my repairs. Pros: On time, accurate quote, quality work, and warranty Cons: None to speak of more

SCAM< SCAM< SCAM 10/26/2009

I called them to replace a spring. They said $149 for 1 & $210 for 2. I said ok then they came back & said I needed a new bearing kit, all together $499. I never agreed or signed anything but the service call but it still didn't stop them from trying to get another $89 for a release & rewind?? which I never authorized. Luckily I got by with only paying the $65 service call but I'm sure there are plenty of little old ladies that won't be so lucky. Buyer Beware they also use those nextel devices to eavsedrop during the communication process. I only gave them 1 star because zero wasn't an option. Shame on these people for trying to take money from hard working , honest folks. Pros: nothing Cons: Very high pressure sales more

Garage Door never worked this well even when new 12/10/2008

Called on Friday afternoon around 3pm and they told me they could have someone out between 4-6. The repairman called around 3:45 to let me know he was en route, he arrived shortly after 4. He quickly determined I had a stripped gear inside the motor unit and that was basically a result of my door operating poorly and unbalanced. He was able to replace all the worn parts and the gear in the same visit and what really impressed me is how well the door worked. he even showed me how to open by hand it was 10 times easier than that morning when I had to open it to get the cars out. Then when we ran the opener the entire door was way smoother than ever and quieter. Great quality work, professional service from both the phone call and the repairman, and prices seemed reasonable although I really have nothing to compare them against. Could not be happier with the overall experience. Pros: Quality work and a professional experience. Cons: Probably more expensive but very much worth it. more

Terrible! Beware! 12/3/2008

I was pressured into purchasing equipment I suspect I did not need. Very high pressure, rude salesperson/ installer. I felt like I was working with a used car salesman. Products were installed I did not authorize. Do yourself a favor and keep looking; this company is all glitz, no substance! Pros: arrived on time Cons: swindled me out of an extra $600 more
