Poso Coal Inc

This is my third season dealing with Poso Coal & I will continue to use him as long as he is in business.He has quality coal & his pricing is right on the money competitive wise. I have never had a problem delivery wise. His weights are good and his dry sense of humor parallels my own.:) I see people complaining about John's attitude--come on people, this is not a mental health clinic, it's a coal business. This is a small business. However, you've got a guy running it who takes pride in coal. His coal does not have ""fines"" in it, so, you'll use less and it will not hurt your equipment, and will not ""snap-crackle-pop"". His coal is ""clean"", it is not transported in trucks that carry sand and salt. Take my advise on that one, I bought coal elsewhere and the salt content is VISIBLE and with the fines, it ruined my equipment. I did not appreciate this guy enough, until I went somewhere else. He also serviced my machine, and replaced the parts damaged from ""bad coal"" that I purchased elsewhere. more

I've only had a coal stove for a year and have had problems here and there working out the quirks, I've called poso just to ask for advice several times and they've always been helpful and even offered to come out and look even when the issue was not necessarily related to the stove and they don't sell my type of stove. The hours arent great for picking up coal if you can't manage to plan ahead, run out and need coal mid day BUT you can always get them on the phone and if you need something they will leave it out for you and you can slide your check in the door. My take on this place is that its no frills, they offer a reasonable service to reasonable people, however, if you're looking for a higher level of service you might consider going somewhere that isn't a 1-2 man operation. more

This company and it's owner is completely useless. Their opening hours are few and far between opening just 2 hours a day, great for when you run out of coal huh? They under deliverd me by around 200lbs and their prices are outrageous. Stay away from them! Pros: None at all Cons: Everything Else more

This guy is notorious for his attitude. A friend stopped in to ask about stoves, he replied to her ""Why, so you can buy it somewhere else?"". I called him for a new part for my stove, he said he had it and I asked the price, he replied ""Does it really matter?"". His coal is also alot more expensive than coal elsewhere. more
