Small town museum with lots of great work 8/20/2005

I first visited the Portland Museum of Art over 15 years ago as part of a school field trip. I have been back several times, most recently about 8 months ago. The amount and variety of art this museum carries is quite surprising. Being a small city, you would not expect to see art from well known artists like Renoir, Monet, and Picasso. Pretty impressive for our local art museum. Another plus are the perks they give to teachers the classroom kits and other resources really are great. more
