Genuine New Orleans 4/28/2006

This place is always dark, even if it's the middle of the day. A cheeseburger, loaded potato and monsoon are also a requirement, regardless of the time of day you go there. I've been there at noon, 2 pm, dinner time, and midnight. Maybe it's just me - but a visit to Port of Call always leads to a legendary memory. more

The best hamburger in New Orleans 8/21/2005

Port of Call's specialty is hands down the best burger in all of New Orleans. These burgers are huge and juicy, and come dressed on the side along with a large baked potato. The wait is often long and there are no reservations, so while waiting for a table head to the bar and order one of the huge tropical drinks on the menu. Each one is cool, refreshing, and loaded with alcohol. more

Port of Call - Best Cheeseburger in the Universe! 8/18/2005

I was surprised that it took me so long to finally make it down to this French Quarter Eatery. This is a place that draws all kinds of people from all over this unique city. Open late, Port of Call has a limited menu of burgers, pizzas, and steaks. I have yet to try anything other than the cheeseburger as it is the best cheeseburger that I have ever sampled. They don’t serve fries, but you will fall in love with their loaded baked potato. There is a great atmosphere with friendly waitresses. Waiting for a table can be hit or miss. Highest recommendation for happy hour or late night dining! more
