BEWARE: Bitch & Switch Tactic 12/24/2010

I have boarded my small dogs here twice before and the owner, Lindsey, was very nice and agreed to board them for $25 a day since the dogs were so small (4lbs each) and crate together. All went well then. The Second Time: I went in to p/u my dogs they charged me $50 per day. I told the young girl at the front register that because the dogs were so small (4lbs each) and crate together, Lindsey had charged me only $25 per day. She said she saw it in the computer previously and adjusted the rate. The Third (and Last) Time: Today, Christmas EVE, I p/u my two dogs and was told I owed $469.00. I mentioned my previously rate and she said the girl had charged me incorrectly previously. Now, this girl must have been suffering some serious PMS or was having some problems with her BF (or GF), because she was about as bitchy as they come. So, I paid her and thought ""It would've been nice to know I was going to be charged the full rate at the time I dropped off the pups, and YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE TO BE SUCH A BITCH ABOUT IT"". Some other observations: The ""Pee-Wee"" room has some very hostile (and not so Pee-Wee dogs in it). My pups were very scared when they entered. Conclusion: So, if you have a toy breed, are very attached to your dog, or just simply like to be treated politely, I suggest you find a boarder more suited to smaller dogs and serving affluent customers. It's not the money, it's the way I was treated, so I will no longer board my dogs here. This owner needs to learn to manage her employees better. more

Awesome Grooming! 6/16/2010

AWESOME Happy Hour 5/25/2010

I recently had a work happy hour for clients and their dogs at the Pooch Patio. It was a huge success! The pup cakes were awesome, staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful selection of beers and wine! I will definetly come here again with my pup for beer/wine/coffee! Pros: Pet friendly patio, great service, wonderful staff more

Best Dog Grooming Ever! 5/9/2010

My dog is half cocker spaniel half king charles cavalier and when i decide to officially groom her for the first time and the second time i called pooch patio and spoke with them about the difficult challenge of grooming a mixed breed and they were fantastic. Pros: Attention to Detail, Listen Carefully and Enjoy a Challenge more

Pretty good. 3/29/2010

I think that the quality of care my dog received is pretty good based on her mood when she returned. She seemed tired (which is a good thing) and she was not scared. My only complaint would be that the muttcam for the small dog room was not working properly. I was never able to see her in the true environment. Also, when I called to talk to a lady about it, she hung up the phone on me..kind of rude. I would say that I would bring my dog back once the muttcam is fixed. Pros: My dog was happy when she returned Cons: Muttcams do not work properly more

Superior Service 11/13/2008

I am a long term client of The Pooch Patio and my animals love attending the doggy day care. more

Great place for the pooch 10/1/2008

I kind of don't want to write this lest the secret get out, but I think we owe the owners. We've been taking our dog Zoe there for over 6 months. After witnessing the ""factory"" type of doggie day cares (which is actually close by the pooch patio but no where near as good with your pet) I wanted a place where our dog would be supervised. She has a ""jumping"" habit and tends to be able to jump over gates at other places. Pros: Supervision, cleanliness, safety, reliability Cons: Nothing more

GREAT business concept all in one place, very clean facility 8/27/2008

I have tried more day cares throughout the metroplex than I care to admit ""shopping around"" for the best day care and boarding facility for Winston. I even drove 15 miles in the opposite direction of my work to one based upon recommendations I received from avid day-care goers at the dog park and after being poorly treated by the immature staff and smelling the facility upon entry, I refused to leave my dog there for the day. I fortunately found out about The Pooch Patio on Citysearch and decided to give it a try. Not only was I incredibly impressed by cleanliness and overall adorable character of the business itself, but was offered a Puppucino while I filled out my paperwork, and given a full facility tour at drop-off. The staff was so professional and personable and I knew immediately that Winston had found his new home away from home. I have now been going to The Pooch Patio for over a month now, the staff all knows me by name, and provides me a report card and home-made treat bag for Winston at pick-up! I see such a huge difference in the quality of care for their client's vs. the other facilities I frequented. Winston and I give The Pooch Patio our vote for being as they advertise ""the ulti-mutt place"" for you and your dog. Pros: Grooming is fabulous, Love being able to buy food there on my way home! Cons: Winston now sits at the door waiting to go play day on the weekends! (is that a bad thing?) more

Cleanest facility in town! Great staff. 8/20/2008

I am a flight attendant and have moved with my ""daughter"" Gracie 7 times in the last 2 years. Needless to say, I have become an expert at finding her that home away from home when she can't be with me due to my travel schedule. I arrived in Dallas, located 6 facilities for me to tour and The Pooch Patio was the fourth facility I saw. I walked in without calling ahead, was greeted by an extremely professional and courteous staff (the owner was even onsite), was given a facility tour without an appointment and they answered all of my questions without hesitation. I have since left Gracie in their care weekly and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The facility is constantly getting upgrades, is so meticulously clean and I can't say enough nice things about the staff! I trust Gracie in their care without question! Two paws up for me (and four for Gracie)!! Pros: 3 different play areas for the pups and webcams! more

Wonderful with your pet! 8/6/2008

The pooch patio is a place you can be worry free about leaving your dog. After a day of play your dog will return home without all of that extra energy. The Pooch Patio has installed a webcam so that you are able to check on your dog at any time. I wouldn't leave my lab anywhere else. Pros: There is a webcam. more

Pawsitively Perfect! 7/30/2008

Dogs have needs too. That?s what I kept reminding myself as I searched for the perfect doggie daycare for my precious puppy, Patches. After researching the internet, asking around, and checking out different daycares, I found the ideal place. Shocked by how filthy many of the doggie daycares were in this city, it didn?t take long for me to make my decision. The Pooch Patio on Fairmount would be Patches? new home away from home. It was clean, and that sealed the deal. Pros: very clean, extremely courteous and professional staff Cons: wish it took up 5 acres! more

Awesome Facility 7/30/2008

This place is THE BEST! I just moved here from New Jersey where nothing is pet-friendly. I needed a day care facility and shopped around but what I found here was just amazing--great staff, great facility AND i can have a beer here! Great all-in-1 location for Duke and I! Pros: All-in-1 place Cons: wish it was bigger. Heard they are franchising though... more
