When it is time to drop off your dog at a kennel in or around Charleston, SC...give Jim and Marcy a call. They are the proud owners of the Pooch Island Inn. We have been taking our dog Sam to the Pooch Island Inn for almost 3 years now and we absolutely love the care she gets when she is there. Jim and Marcy treat our dog like she is there own pet. I could not give The Pooch Island Inn higher marks! Please consider them when you are thinking of traveling and leaving your dog at a kennel. You will not be disappointed. more

Family owned and very clean. 8/3/2007

What a wonderful experience for our Wheaton Terrier Barkley. This very clean, family owned, Dog and Cat Bed and Breakfast was like no other place we have seen. Air Conditioning, t.v.s with ""Animal Planet"" playing for the animals to enjoy. Night time music. Beautiful shaded wooded fenced areas for all dogs. The owners gave individual attention to each dog and treated them all like they were their own. Called with updates on our dog, ""Barkley"". Doggy Beds for each dog, very clean and large areas for the dogs to run in the woods. We will book ahead of time each year while vacationing in South Carolina. On the way to Kiawah Island and Charleston, great location. Pros: A lot of attention to our pet more

Pooch Island Inn Doggie Bed & Breakfast 7/30/2007

To animal lovers everywhere i can only describe this quiet yet family operated animal retreat as close to home for any animal lovers home away from home! The owners Marcia and James Pettus are there for the the up dates on my pet when I call, always concerned and understanding with my child ""my DOG"" I use this hotel for my child ""My Dog"" several times every year for the past 4 years my rating 5 stars .
