What a site 4/14/2006

One of the nicest sites you can see when you visit Pittsburgh is the fountain at Point State Park. It is located in downtown Pittsburgh at the point where 2 of the three rivers meet to form the third. It is such a spectacular site. They have many events in the park when the weather is warm. There are always people around. It is just a great place to spend some time and relax. more

Beautiful park in a beautiful city 3/19/2006

When the weather is nice and we have the time to enjoy the city, Point State Park is one of the places that we make sure that we visit. With a gorgeous fountain and paved pathways to walk on, there is nothing more enjoyable than strolling along the rivers, or sitting near the fountain on a hot day and feeling the fountain spray on your arms when the breeze blows. Many great events like the regatta and the arts festival are held in the park every year. the park also features the Fort Pitt museum, which is great to take a look and see part of the city's history. more

Ya gotta visit "da point" 3/7/2006

If you're not a native Pittsburgher, "da point" generally refers to Point State Park, the meeting place of the three rivers flowing through the city. During the summer, it's often used as a locale for events and festivals, like the Three Rivers Arts Festival and the Regatta. There's not a whole lot to see here, but it's pretty and a nice stroll on a sunny day. more

A park among the 3 rivers 2/21/2006

Point State park is an automatic visit every time we are in Pittsburgh in the summertime. At the junction of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers it truly does come to a point. A large fountain (Fed by an underground river) highlight the park at it's point at the Ohio river. Many summer events and concerts are held there including the three rivers regatta and Arts festival each year. A fun place to just sit and relax in the sun and watch the boats in the 3 rivers surrounding you. An easy walk from downtown. more
