Really neat place for kids 1/14/2011

I felt the need to write a review here to give a different perspective to the two really nasty reviews that I read. There is absolutely no merit to someone saying that the staff is rude and the facility is dirty. The two reviewers apparently only went one time so I would disregard. I have been many times with my two girls. I have used the drop off care as well as the drop in and play. If you're using the drop in and play you are required to be with your children at ALL times. Safety is thus not an issue if you are watching your children. As for the drop off care, the children are under constant supervision with more than one staff member. They are also on a tight schedule regarding gym time and other activities so I feel confident that the children aren't just thrown into a room to run wild when you drop them off. As for cleanliness, its clean. If the staff aren't busy with customers then they are individually cleaning the toys in the play area. There is a big rice table that the kids can play in (my kids love love love this) and once the rice has fallen on the floor, it is immediately swept up and thrown out. They are so concerned with the place being sanitary that they don't even put dry rice back on the play table once its hit the floor. I know it is anyone's right to use anonymity to blast people and businesses on the internet but I wish people would take a second and think before typing. In an economy such as this businesses can close down in the blink of an eye. My daughters are 4 and 1 1/2 and I feel completely safe taking my children to PLAY. When I found this place I was so excited to have a fun safe place to take my kids while I ran errands. more

Love, love, LOVE! 12/1/2010

I couldn't be happier with my experience at PLAY! I recommend PLAY to all of my friends with children and to any friendly faces around town looking for a fun, safe, and CLEAN place to play with their children. I have spoken to the PLAY staff before about their cleaning procedures and have full confidence that all the gym equipment is clean and safe, as well as the toys in the front Creative Play area. I have also witnessed the staff members cleaning the toys before while up in the front area. They throughly clean each toy by hand and there is a bucket for parents to place any toy that goes into their child's mouth to remove that toy from circulation for immediate attention. They even clean each ball in the ball pit by hand! I am very impressed! The events and care that PLAY offers is such an added bonus as well. My kids love the Kid's Night Out and their Drop-Off care is perfect for running errands or grabbing lunch with a friend. I highly suggest checking this place out for yourself! more

REPLY from PLAY 11/29/2010

Our equipment and toys are cleaned DAILY! In fact, one of the most common comments we get each day is how clean the facility is. Each of those small toys are cleaned by hand. Yes there are small toys in the Creative Play Area, it is not a ""toddler area"" but for all ages. Parents are here to supervise their children so they can deem what area to play in or not. Also, counters, surfaces, doors and handles, water fountains, everything, are cleaned throughout each day.\r Only people with children enter our facility. If they do not have children they are here for a tour or to reserve their party for example. If someone comes in to meet someone, we verify who it is they are meeting before they are allowed in and the Front Desk staff are only in the adjacent office (which is open and visible) if they are not directly at the desk. Everyone goes through the Front Desk.\r When it comes to the children in our Short Stay Care area, security codes and ID checking are always in place before anyone enters this area, but when people are coming in to stay and play with their children they do not need to show ID. It is not typical when taking your child to public places and you are with them and staying with them that you need to show ID. And when people purchase a pass of some kind they are usually here playing at the time, with their child.\r The Staff here at PLAY is extremely attentive and interact with the kids by running activities in the gym areas so they are on hand to help out, but again, parents are responsible for supervising their children.\r I am sorry that this person felt so horrible about our facility and even worse that they did not say something to us directly so that we could answer questions and explain policies and procedures.\r We are very proud of our facility and work very hard to keep it clean and provide plenty of safe and fun activities and options.\r Hopefully anyone reading this will decide to make the decision for themselves and will come and check us out. You can come by any time and will be given a guided tour by PLAY Staff (again, people do not just wander through our facility).\r We get lots of feedback from the families that visit here and we always consider that feedback, positive or negative. This facility was developed and has grown based on the requests and suggestions of the families that have supported us for now over six years. We hope to be able to meet you too! more

Huge Disappointment, and Unsafe! 11/1/2010

Wow, I wish zero stars was an option, because I would give Play Activity Center NO STARS!\r \r I was so excited about this place - I bought a monthly membership using a Groupon and decided to check it out. I have been paying much more for Gymboree, and Play looked so much better...at least on the website it did...\r My husband and I took our 2 year old there and were completely grossed out. First of all, there is NO SECURITY whatsoever. It's not that they should have this place under lock and key, but there were many times when no one was at the front desk. Also, in order to sign up for a membership, I didn't have to provide any information other than my name! No driver's license...NOTHING! Any child molester could walk into this place completely unnoticed.\r \r Regarding the activities, the equipment was worn and there was no employees in the play area. There were numerous places where a child could get hurt.\r \r I was super excited about the different play areas for the smaller kids. They looked great on the website. This area turned out to be nothing more than a junky area with tons of small toys that are choking hazzards.\r It was clear that this area was rarely cleaned, if EVER.\r \r I felt like I needed a shower after leaving this place! \r more

Play is THE best place to go! 4/2/2010

I have known the owner Colleen for many years and have taken my children to her facilities because we love it there. It is an extremely clean place compared to others, parents don't pay to get in, you pay for all day play and can leave and return and not have to pay again. Colleen bends over backward to accommodate for parties, playgroups, and individual requests to the best of her ability. Children come in the door too excited to wait for their parents to pay, and they leave crying because they don't want to leave. What more can a parent ask for?! It's awesome on cold days and it's awesome on hot summer days. Play with your child or drop them off and have lunch with the girls in the drop-off care which I love. They have weekend care called Kid's Night Out, so your kids can have fun and so can you without worrying - they are having fun! They just had an ""Egg Day"" and it was a blast for the kids! They had relay races and tons of activities as well as an indoor egg hunt. There was face painting and bunny ears to be made. As a parent, I can't imagine any place I would rather be with my kids. Nap time comes very easily after a day at Play. Keep up the good work guys! Pros: Kids can run and be loud more

NOT GOING BACK!!! 2/5/2010

The concept is good, but the staff was NOT SO FRIENDLY!!! ESPECIALLY THE OWNER ""COLLEEN"", SHE WAS VERY RUDE TO ME AND MADE ME FEEL VERY UNWELCOME!!! SHE IS THE REASON I'M NOT GOING BACK!!! :( Pros: Good concept Cons: VERY RUDE OWNER - ""COLLEEN"" more

Woderful FUN!! 12/28/2009

We love PLAY! We go and stay and stay and stay. My 4 year old and 2 year old LOVE it! Whenever we drive by they say ""PLAY place!!""Can we go!!"" It has everything from active play to the front imagination play area!!!"" It is such a clean and fun place to take the kids by myself or to meet friends there!! I have also done the drop off care and it is wonderful too! I highly recommend this fun PLAY place!! Pros: Great Exercise and Imagiantion!! Cons: my kids don't want to leave!! more

Great place for so many reasons! 7/27/2009

What is not to like? You can leave your children; you can stay and play with them. If you stay, you can still have them watched while you make a phone call or rest for a little while in the parents' lounge. There are art rooms to explore, a play ""vet"" center, a play beauty salon, a real lunch room that is so kid friendly that you can actually relax and enjoy lunch with your kids. There is every kind of class imaginable. The staff is attentive and kind. The drop-off care is better than most preschools- more crafts and art than I have ever seen! But most of all, my kids hate to leave this facility, and I feel authentically impressed. Pros: so much to do! kids love it! freedom for parents Cons: none really more
