Plato's Closet is wonderful. You can buy like, fourteen outfits for the same amount of money you would pay for one and a half outfits brand new from the mall. And if you know how to look, most of the time you can get your fourteen outfits in practically brand new condition! That's really the only thing is you have to look because it IS a used clothing store and so everything on every rack is different, but they also get new stuff in EVERY DAY so if you don't find what you want the first time, maybe next week when you go in you will find what you're looking for. You never know what you'll fall in love with at Plato's!! more

BEWARE! 2/16/2011

O.k. First of all I need to say that my 14 year old loves this store. Now having said that, I will say that I will NOT try to do business with this store again. I thought I would re-sell some of the things my 14 year old had bought from Plato's closet back to them. They had been outgrown and worn maybe a couple of times and they were purchased less than a year before. I thought no problem. WRONG!!! First of all, I have never been treated so badly in my life by someone who is younger than I am and thinks they know way more than I do, and I have a teenager living at home. To the worker who posted the article, check your attitudes at the door. The little snot who went through the things I took in literally ripped through everything, turning a very neat pile into a huge jumble, that I had to re-fold just to get out of the door. She even threw part of it away and I had to ask for it back! I was told, as she was looking down her nose at me, that all of the items I had were way to old for them to consider buying them from me. I was shocked as most of the items had come from that store only a few months before. I honestly didn't know what to say as I was so incredibly floored. I found an identical item in their store that was in the things I took in. They may be o.k. to buy from, but don't expect them to be friendly or even fair. Customer service is not high on their list of priorities. more

Horrible!! 9/30/2010

I went there and I agree that the one on academy is a mess and very unfriendly staff! They have clothes that are stained, missing buttons, and very faded! I also think they need to get people in there that actually know something about fashion and what is and isn't in style. I myself will never go through such a mess again! more

Helllloo!! Its a Thrift store!! 2/22/2010

I Love Plato's Closet! Every time I have gone there the people have been really nice, when was the last time you went to goodwill and they offered to help you find something or to take your clothes to the dressing room? It is however a thrift store, which means you do need to dig through and sometimes you will not find anything you like but there are great things to be found in there :) there are somethings that are more worn, but guess what don't buy it then. they are constantly moving new things out, so you have to keep going back to look. plus they do have a system, the problem is shoppers walk around with one item decide they don't want it and then put it back wherever they are standing. Pros: clothes that are cheap that aren't for your grandma Cons: you do need to dig, it's called thrifting more

worst thrift store I've ever been to 11/25/2009

I will NEVER go to plato's again and I warn anyone doing business with them. first of all the store is just a cluttered mess, way too much crap (and i mean that literally, they're selling brands such as no boundaries and xhilarition which you can get from walmart and target they charge just as much if you just went and bought a brand new shirt from there), most of their shirts are faded, the seam is coming undone and grotesquely overpriced (a used worn hollister shirt for 12 bucks! uh yeah no)... they had a pair of dirty puma shoes for 20 bucks, hideous high heels that look like their right out of the 80s and cheap jewelry that looked like it was from claires and yet cost just as much (USED jewelry by the way). oh yes and for my selling experience, i seriously wanted to get some cash because i just moved here and i heard about this ""great"" store that takes your gently used brand names. now i happen to have alot of brand name things, i brought into platos a juicy couture necklace (originally $90, worn once!!), an ed hardy hat (bought less than a year ago $90), an h&m fur coat ($200 retail), betsey johnson handbag ($100) and a couple shirts from maurices, couple pairs of jeans, etc... I waited half and hour for them to search through my clothes and i assumed i was going to get at least 40 bucks for all that stuff after being told they offer a certain percentage of what you originally bought it for. finally i came up to the front ( with a bunch of their less than average brand clothes) and the clerk told me she was going to offer me $12! she said the coat was ""out of date"" the computer told her this by the way... i got 3.50 for the juicy couture necklace, 4.00 for ed hardy hat, and they wanted to offer me 5.00 for my betsey johnson purse. i didnt accept and gave them their used no boundries shirts that added up to double of what they were willing to offer me for my brand name items. BUYERS AND SELLERS BEWARE!! i don't see a long lasting future for this travesty of a store. Pros: none, don't bother Cons: overpriced and underpricing your items more

Poor Customer Service 5/29/2009

I am writing to let you know about my horrible experience in Plato's Closet, Colorado Springs on North Academy. I made a special trip to bring in desired clothing and was very put off after receiving less than acceptable service. Cons: Long Wait, Have to Dig through Clothes more
