We have ordered from this place a few times and the food has always been pretty good. We placed an order to be picked up and when we got home we realized the worker didn't give us what we ordered My wife called to let them know and the worker got an attitude and called us a liar told my wife to fu** off you bitch and hung up. I was awestruck. We didn't want anything free just the correct items and offered to bring the other one back. Needless to say we won't be there again. more

Best Pizza in Chesapeake 1/20/2011

I eat at Pizza Vera several times a week. The staff is friendly and dedicated. They know my co-workers and me by name. When we walk in they know our order. The pizza is authentic and excellent. The sauce has a nice bite to it and is not to sweet. The crust is thin and has an excellent crunch. They are very generous with the toppings and the prices are great. My only wish they had a store in VA Beach so I could go there for dinner as well as lunch. more

Greatest pizza in Chesapeke 1/11/2010

Some of the best pizza I've had in years. No frills, the put their money into their product and it pays off. I would highly recommend stopping in and getting a couple of slices for lunch. more

Artificial Cheese 10/10/2008

I just bought a pizza the other day. They make the most tasteless and overpriced pizza. I usually never complain about food, but could not stand Pizza Vera ripping me off. They do not even use real cheese as you can see the transparent layer on the pizza.( which will eventually clog your artries) The underside of pizza is dirty, I do no think they ever clean thier oven. Oh and about the toppings, I had to use a magnifying glass to find onion, pepper and chicken pieces. Cons: Waste of money and time more

Do not get delivery... 4/18/2008

This is probably one of the best places in Chesapeake to get a New York style pizza. They also have good subs and garlic knots. I would highly recommend picking up your order and not relying on the delivery service. I completely agree with the other comment about waiting for the delivery and they never show, I have had this happen to me. I would say though if you are really craving a good pizza, it is worth driving to pick it up. Cons: Hours of Operation more

i will never eat at another pizzeria again -- i love this place -- best food and service ever -- if you're ever in chesapeake and need a hot pizza -- this is your place. Pasta was warm and filling -- the pizza was perfect -- home made dough crust sauce -- awesome cheese -- cant say enough -- highly recommended by this new yorker more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER 5/8/2007

I had a horrible experience with Pizza Vera! I work at a hotel and placed my order at 7:15pm for a delivery and was given a wait time of 45 min to an hour. Pizza Vera closes at 9:00pm at approximately 8:45pm we called and were put on hold several times and were finally told that we weren't getting our order, we would be refunded our money. My co-worker went to the location and had to beat on the door where she was being laughed at and finally the manager came in to close out the shift and he gave her our food for free. I spoke with the manager who had a very nonchalant attitude and never apologized for the experience. I was extremely displeased and will never order from here again! more

Pizza Vera 7/18/2003

As a native NY'er I am always on the prowl for GOOD pizza. Thought it was hopeless until I popped in Pizza Vera one day-that's all it took-I'm sold! The food is great, reminds me of my teenage yrs and going to a pizza joint. the people are real cool in there too! Pros: excellent food, reasonable prices more

Pizza Vera Rocks! 10/31/2002

As a native New Yorker, I have searched far and wide for a good pizza place in this area and Pizza Vera is it! A small operation run by a fellow Long Islander, it's like a little slice of home every time I go in. It's MUCH better than any of the national chains! more
