Pinkberry, the talk of the city,,, I swear have these people even TRIED other frozen yogurt places? I'm sorry but Pinkberry ranks kind of low compared to the rest of them.. I love...

Delicious! 9/7/2007

I went to the Pink Berry in the Inland Empire on a very hot day. Yes they were a little slow, and yes it was pretty hot inside, which I found strange since it is FROZEN yogurt. However, it was sooooo good!!! I wanted the small original flavor with strawberries, mango and chocolate chips. The guy at the counter told me it was actually cheaper to get the medium flavor because it included the three toppings. Nice of him to point that out. I figured I couldn't have finished the whole thing, it looked huge and I thought it would be way to sweet. The yogurt was nice and tart, not in a bad way. Just not super sweet. It was a great combination with the fruit on a super hot day! It didn't leave me parched looking for a bottle of water, which is good cause they have none. I would caution that the one downfall is the seating was very limited if you were looking to stay and eat it there. Lucky for me I took it to go. Also, they have a fantastic selection of fresh fruit to choose as toppings as well as cereal. YUMMY!!! Pros: Fabulous toppings Cons: limited seating more

What do people in LA see in this? 9/3/2007

Over priced tart yogurt? Also, look at their nutritional facts on their web site...IT'S BASED ON A 1 oz SERVING!! Their medium is probably 8oz! So now it's at least 40 grams of sugar. Don't believe the hype. This will be the next fade to die after the initial curiosity is burned up. Also very rude, at least in Marina Del Rey. Cons: OVER PRICED, OVER RATED more

mmmmmmmmmm, yougart 8/31/2007

well. I have to admit, i went to stinkberry not expecting much... Being that it was a hot summers day however they won me over.. Choice yourgart...\r more

So not worth it! 8/23/2007

Yeah ... sour yogurt that's not even yogurt. It's a POWDER MIX! Such a rip off to pay $5 for powder mix and a measly 4 pieces of fruit. Go once just to say you went and to tell those who haven't gone that they're not missing much. Pros: You got to check mark off that you were part of a trend Cons: Everything about it more

Too much hype for just frozen yogurt 8/18/2007

Don't have high expectations for this place no matter how much you hear about it because it's nothing more than simple frozen yogurt with some fruit. It's really overpriced for something so common. The yogurt isn't even that good. I would've preferred just having a cup of the fruit without the yogurt, but I could just go to the grocery store for that. I seriously can't believe that there's often a line just to order a cup of frozen yogurt that hardly measures up to the hype surrounding it. Pros: healthy Cons: overpriced, long wait, overhyped more

Over Hyped, Over Priced 8/8/2007

Really? 8.00 for Frogurt w/ no toppings? Ok, I'm a vegetarian, and have a very healthy diet, but even I would just opt for more calories and get something that tasted better. Once again, LA hyping up something because they put a fancy little shop up somewhere with a cool gimmick. Ok, this stuff tastes...well if you like real ice cream and frogurt, it tastes like garbage. You would be better off just eating some fruit to satisfy your sweet tooth. Or soy ice cream, there are ones out there that are undetectable. I was so excited to eat there, (a victim of the hyping myself) then got a taste of that stuff and just couldnt aquire a taste for its sour flavor. It really is a unique taste. Mark my words, it's a fad, and will be gone in a few years. more

Good dessert, too pricey 8/2/2007

The first time I went to Pinkberry, I thought it was definently too expensive for frozen yogurt,...but I guess because they spend a lot of money on the decor and locations,..they have to raise the price to make their money. Still, I will not go out of my way for Pinkberry, a large is $8.00 with no toppings,...too expensive for dessert,..Kiwiberri is almost exactly the same as Pinkberry except cheaper, $5.75 for a large,..thats more expected. I do like the flavor of korean yogurt,...so I would stop at kiwiberri from time to time. The yogurt flavor is light and sweet, and sits much better in my stomach than ice cream or other frozen yogurt (too creamy). You can also buy these Yogloo korean drinks at the Supermarket for like 99cents if you like the Pinkberry flavor,..taste just like it!!! Pros: good light dessert Cons: too pricey, overrated, too many people more

Love it! 7/25/2007

I prefer the original flavor- ask for a taste so you can try a bit of both before you choose. Go with the medium size/ three toppings as your best buy. And to keep it healthy stay with fruit, granola, coconut..\r Personally, eating it once a week and hoping it truly is fat free (and not a bad Seinfeld episode down the road) Also not a fan of the green tea powder topping you can put on at the end. Pros: Place, taste, nutritional value Cons: powdered toppings more

Overrated 7/22/2007

Overrated\r \r I kept hearing people go on and on about this place. So, I went. What a disappointment. Don't even know what to say except. It was not crack-berry, rather blah-berry. Not worth it, go get some coldstone or penguins the grocery store instead. I do have to say that the ambiance is nice and the stores are clean. I visited the one in Silverlake area. Pros: A Place To ""Be Scene"" Cons: Not very good more

Cefiore at Hollywood! (Across from Chinese Mann Theatre!) 7/16/2007

Dude.... i just found out there Cefiore Yogurt Shop is opened in Hollywood (Across from Chinese Mann Theatre!). It's the same one from Japan Village (Little Tokyo!)\r \r The grand opening is Aug 18 according to the owner and they are just ""soft"" opening for next few weeks. I work just one block away from it, so i can go there everyday now. \r \r It's much more tart than pinkberry and much better than Cantoloop! Can't wait to go back there again! Pros: so-so Cons: it's ok... but not as tart or creamy as cefiore! parking is hard! more

Candy in a Cup! 7/15/2007

Pinkberry or PinkScary.\r \r It?s Candy in a cup?\r \r One 13-ounce large size has 65 grams of sugar. That?s 16 teaspoons of sugar and 300 calories in just the yogurt. \r \r One 8-ounce medium size has 40 grams of sugar, which equals 10 teaspoons of sugar for 200 calories. \r \r The sugary toppings like white chocolate add even more sugar and fat.\r \r Pinkberry has refused to release the ingredients in their yogurt. Why, if it?s just yogurt?\r \r You will be better off getting an icecream. Pros: no parking Cons: Too much bad stuff!! more

Something that I can live without 6/29/2007

I first had it before they decided to make Pinkberry a chain and I didn't think it was quite that great, to be frank. The parking was horrible because it was nonexistent and it was just frozen yogurt with fresh fruit, which was a letdown, especially with all the hype heightened by my friends. It was only when I heard that they had mochi (mini rice cakes) as a topping that I decided to try it again. And it was great. The mochi I mean. Since my ex-roommate actually liked the fro-yo (frozen yogurt) but not the mochi so much, it worked out so that I ate the toppings and she ate the fro-yo. Although I have to admit, the fro-yo starts growing on you until you become addicted to it. Its flavor is tarty so if you don't like yogurt with a tang, then I wouldn't recommend it. They also have a kiwi-green tea fusion flavor option for an extra buck which is not worth it at all. Just sprinkle vast amounts of their green tea flavor on your regular fro-yo if you want the green tea flavor. However, their decor is very pretty but don't expect to walk in with a camera because no pictures are allowed. Overall, it's okay. Pros: Nice decor and seating place, variety of toppings Cons: Too hyped up, tart flavored frozen yogurt more

ONE MORE GATHERING OF NUMB-MINDED TREND-RATS! 6/28/2007

Yes, yes, yes. Pinkberry's trendy as hell. Its decor falls somewhere between that of an IKEA cafeteria & a Tokyo nightmare & the lines are out the door. I'm most familiar with the establishment on Vermont in Los Feliz but friends in New York say it's a hotspot there as well. The place is packed all day & night. Glassy-eyed hipsters wander out into the street with trays of the stuff. I tried it twice & personally found the ""yogurt"" to taste like a tarnished silver spoon. But maybe that's just me. Here's something: The yogurt they serve is delivered to the place in powdered form. And there's word it's not fat-free. Their website currently offers a vague assurance of wholesomeness but notes the company is ""investigating"" recent inquiries into the nature of the product (see ""About "" at www.pinkberry.c_m). So, if you're after a low calorie, ""fat-free"" wretched mystery then climb on board - the ship of fools is hoppin' - but be sure to wear your black All-Stars if you want a seat at the cool table. My humble suggestion (for those in the Los Feliz area)... cowboy up fattys & check out the Hollywood Gelato Co. on Hillhurst. Gelato's not fat-free either but it's significantly richer yet healthier than ice cream (due to the making process & the fact it's key ingredient is milk rather than cream) & there's way more than two flavors to choose from. In closing, it is my firm belief that the sooner we shake baseless trends, crucify mediocrity in the parking lots of shopping malls & demand good products the better off we'll be as a race. That said, let's hope Pinkberry shortly packs the powder in its bags & takes the dopey hordes with 'em. - J_James Pros: It's not a US Army Recruiting Center Cons: It IS Pinkberry more

Horrible, Over Priced, Over Hyped, and Tastes Like Sour Milk 5/26/2007

I don't get it. They offer TWO kinds of frozen yogurt - which by the way, if you read the fine print in the stores, it's not even real frozen yogurt - both which taste like sour milk. The toppings are your average choices that you can find at any other frozen yogurt place. I guess because Us Weekly tells people to go there, people go there. I have given it two tries and I won't give it a third. It is ridiculously overpriced, too. I am utterly baffled by the success of this place. Does the media really have that much power that people can't think (or taste) for themselves anymore???? Pros: um...??? Cons: tastes like sour milk, not even yogurt, limited toppings more

always room for pberry 5/24/2007

there's also one on sawtelle, around the corner from babyblonde waffles. its not as crowded, so i like to hang out there and enjoy the pinkberry with bananas and pineapple. more

It's not even yogurt! 5/6/2007

The FDA spoke to Pinkberry and told them that they had to remove the word ""yogurt"" from any signage and packaging within 30 days since the product does not contain ANY yogurt. The product is made from good old dairy products and some sort of dry mix. Go to the locations and look for yourself. Maybe wait and see the delivery in the morning from the dairy to see for yourself what gets off-loaded from the truck.\r \r So I hope you all are enjoying your Ice Cream and your expanded waistline from all the calories, complex sugars and fat!\r \r You all have been had! Pros: Sweet Cons: It is a con! more
