24 hour food adventure 4/7/2011

Wow! My friend and I went driving from Philly to Maryland and decided to get off the interstate for a while to grab some food. We stopped at Phil and Jim's and I've been raving about it ever since! Their Special Hoagie is THE best hoagie I've ever had, which says a lot. The friend and I were driving around hoping to find some good local food in the tri state area. We didn't have much luck after Phil and Jim's, but we honestly could have called the adventure right there after an hour. more

Phil & Jim's has been THE best place for hoagies and cheesesteaks in Delaware County for many years. People always think Pat's Steaks when they get any where near Philly, but Phil & Jim's has them beat hands down!!! The guys are great and they work fast to give you the best sandwich you've ever had. If you've never tried them - try them today. You will not be sorry. more

Phil & Jim's rocks 4 generations 11/9/2010

I grew up on these hoagies. My grandfather, Harold MacNeilly, insisted on Phil & Jim's whenever we came to visit from Va. My Aunts, Sandy & Susie, had the biggest crushes on Gus and my dad, Richard, would make it our first stop whenever we were there in Chester. After I was grown and married my sister was in college in FLA and went to visit Grandpop and wrote me a letter on her hoagie wrapper! They're that good and I was insanely jealous. One of these days I will get a t-shirt and send it to her! Phil & Jim's is a family tradition for 4 generations now. Love you guys! more

Phil & Jims Sandwich shop 7/22/2010

I grew up one block from Phil & Jims. Our family bought some many sandwiches from them we should own stock options. Great Cheesburgers which they call cheesewopper snadwiches. The best hoagies anywhere. Awesome cheesesteaks and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches on hoagie rolls and don't forget your TastyKakes. It is the first stop whe we go home. I salivate all the way from Charlotte, NC. By the way it is actually Phil & Jims Sandwich shop not Delicatessen more

Don't Judge a Book by its Cover 11/1/2009

The first time you visit this place, you'll be a little leery -- it looks like they opened this bare-bones shop in the early '60s or thereabouts and haven't made any changes to the decor since. Instead of wasting time and money on making the place look spiffy, though, they focused their efforts on making the sandwiches delicious. The hoagies and cheesesteaks are as good as you'll find anywhere, city or 'burbs. This is the type of longstanding neighborhood gem that doesn't promote itself, but has long-lasting success through word-of-mouth. Believe that word -- your mouth will thank you. I love Phil and Jim's hamburgers and Hoagies. They are the best around. And all the workers there are awesome. Whenever I go back down that way I have to go stop in and get something! more

Greatest Burger 6/26/2009

Phil & Jim's has the best hamburger you could ever buy. They toast the roll to make the sandwich that much better. The cheese steaks are also one of the most popular things to get there. So good! more

THE BEST HAGIES AND CHEESE STEAKS AROUND 2/17/2008

From CHESTER ORIGINALLY BUT NOW LIVE IN CHARLOTTE NC. I VISIT MY FAMILY THERE TWICE A YEAR. THE FIRST THING I DO IS MAKE A BEE LINE TO PHIL AND JIMS TO GET EITHER A CHEESESTEAK OR A HOAGIE. MY SOUTHERN FRIENDS WHO COME WITH ME TO SEE THE PHILLIES PLAY , LOVE THE CHEESESTEAKS. THEY ARE THE BEST!!! IT IS HORRIBLE THAT PAT'S IN PHILLY USE CHEEZE WHIZ ON A STEAK SANDWHICH---YUCK!!!! more

Great Steaks and burgers 11/19/2007

The first time I had Phil & Jim's, I was working and someone bought us all cheeseburgers. Amazing! great patties on toasted sesame seed buns. I went back and tried their steaks and was just as impressed. Very filling and quick service. My work orders from Phil & Jim's multiple times a week now. more

Wow 3/6/2006

My family loves Phil and Jims. Whenever my uncle comes up from maryland he always wants to get a hoagie from Phil and Jims. I don't even live near Phil and Jims anymore yet I still seem to find myself traveling to parkside jus to get a hoagie. If you want something good for the boys on game day, phil and jims is the place to be. more
