Don't let the star rating on this site fool you, it won't allow you to NOT leave a star and it adds them up as if they're getting a good rating. Poor taste and dishonest for others looking for the truth. Pet Land of Wellsville, NY needs to be shut down for good. The conditions are deplorable, the animals are miserable and the food products are usually outdated. He refuses to disclose the breeders he purchases animals from and if asked he simply states "I buy from a guy that has sterile conditions". If pressed for information, he gets upset. Its too bad because they used to be a decent store and now he's blaming it on his age. Perhaps its time to retire so that the animals won't have to suffer at his hands. more

Appalling! Pet Land Pet Shop in Wellsville NY 8/4/2007

I went into this store for the first time today. I was appalled at the conditions these poor animals are living in! In the Ferret cage there is feces all over the cage floor, and it's old and crusted! The poor thing has nowhere to sit on the bottom! The poor birds cages are not any better! With at least 1/2 " of seed and waste all over the bottom, and several of the birds are visably sick! The other small animals don't have it much better. Despite all that, it's cluttered, over priced and filthy! I have reported them to the SPCA. If you care anything about animals, PLEASE do the same. The SPCA's number is 585-593-2200 With any luck he will at the very least, be fined for animal neglect! more

Filthy 2/2/2007

His last store was filthy & smelled & now his new store is filthy & smells. He had good prices when he moved into the new store but they just keep going up & up. more
