authenticity and atmosphere 1/1/2003

Well this has to be the best restaurant in Detroit that I have found yet. A Greek friend of mine says that the food is VERY authentic, just like her aunts and mom make. The service is SUPERB and the food is awesome. This place is A+++, highly recommeded. Pros: good food, pleasant dining, unusualy dishes Cons: parking in Greektown, beggers on the street, pricey, but worth it more

Never been to the restaurant, but have had it delivered a dozen times. Always a great pie - especially the seafood. Customers always love it. Figure two slices max per adult male. Not really your traditional pizza though. Pros: unique, huge Cons: expensive more

Still a good deep dish pie. However, the best pizzaria must also have thin crust that lives up to the original pizza pie. The Pap just doesn't get it, top 5, but not numero uno. more

Not Great 11/27/2002

I eat Pizza Papalis pizza at least once a month, but only because its the only pizza place around my office that serves individual size pizza. Therefore, I only eat it because of the convienence and certainly not due to its taste. Which is average, at best. Pros: quick, close by, right size Cons: taste, price, taste more

This food is too pricy and over rated. The food is bland and not worth the money. The deep dish pizza is gummy. It takes entirely too long for you to get your food. more

I grew up in Michigan and moved to DC for approximately 6 years. I missed Pizza Paplis so much I used to tell my acquaintances in DC about Pizza Paplis because there is no place like it in DC. I recently moved back and went to Pizza Paplis, I can't even describe how good the pizza was after not having it for so long. This place is so damn cute. The pizza was good, but not the greatest. We just had cheese and Canadian Bacon on ours. The canadian bacon was great and full of flavor and the sauce was good, and the crust was flaky, deep dish, but you know what!? I still felt like it was missing something, I just don't know what. more

I GREW UP IN THE DETROIT METRO AREA AND ALWAYS LOVED YOUR PIZZA. IN 1998 I TOLD MY GIRLFRIEND HOW GOOD YOUR FOOD WAS. SO I TOOK HER A LONG WITH FOUR OF OUR BROTHERS AND WHEN SHE WAS EATING THE PIZZA SHE SAID HOW COULD THIS GET ANY BETTER? THATS' WHEN I PULLED OUT THE RING AND AND SEALED MY MATE. U can do better in Greektown 10/29/2002

Ive eaten here at least three times and each time ordered the gourmet deep dish. Got sick three times, food is much too rich for me. Expect a long wait on the weekends, at least 45 minutes. more
