The food was really great but the customer service could have been better. After all, you go out to dinner to be pampered and waited on. First off we tried to make reservations and they would not take them, then instead of the original three diners, there were now five of us. Two were running late and we had to sit in the waiting area for 20 minutes until they arrived. That's just plain silly. If they were smart, they would have seated us and served us appetizers and drinks. Cha-ching...HELLO! No. Rules are rules. We were not offered a beverage while we waited and were not even told that there was a bar area to wait in. Finally we are seated. The service was prompt, the gals ordered drinks and we had at the salad bar. This salad bar was very impressive. Next two men came out and explained their beef selections, which is New York Strip, Rib Eye and Prime Rib (plus there are other items on the menu). Four diners chose the Rib Eye 10 oz cuts and they were cut to order at the table. Personally, I didn't think they were well marbled enough and so I chose the Prime Rib. Then one of the diners had a chip in her wine glass and almost cut her lip on it. It was difficult to get the server's attention and the problem resolved. And then there was no apology or compensation for the problem. The food was served soon after and my Prime Rib was awesome. The other diners said theirs was good. The ambience was very nice, and that of a New York-style steakhouse with low lighting, candles, wood tables and an open grilling area. And yes, there was a bar tucked away on the front side of the building. The Peddler would make a nice romantic dining spot. All in all, I would say that it was a nice time with some irritating moments. I would probably go back in the future but I would not make it tops on my list for customer service. The Social Light
Pros: Thumbs Up on Food, Salad Bar and Ambience
Cons: Thumbs Down on Customer Service
