Paul Bunyan's Famous Cook Shanty

I worked for Paul Bunyan's as a youth. That was 30 years ago. It was a great experience. The restaurant is run by the same family as it was when I worked their. Their standards are high and I would recommend them to everyone that visits the Wisconsin Dells. You cant go wrong. They have the best food bar none. more

The wait staff is very hit or miss. I have had great servers and I have had OK servers as well, but I always leave full. All of the food is homemade and usually fresh that day, you can't find that many other places. It is in the Wisc Dells, where it is hard to find a restaurant that is not a chain. Paul Bunyan's has been family operated for 62 years! I learned this while talking to the waitress. While you can't carry out the food, con, you can eat all that you wish, pro. It really is an experience that everyone should have when they go to the Dells, almost as important as walking the strip or getting an old time photo. The line can get long, so get there early, I have waited in line for 20 minutes before. Just shows you how popular it is. No bacon, another con but I was able to deal. I also would recommend the bloody mary's. Loved the experience, hate to read the comments below that are negative because I loved it. Pros: fast, homemade, all you can eat more

Weren't we the lucky ones to get this stupid waitress who neglected to follow proper safely procedures in handling hot items. She held a hot coffee container and tray of orange juice over my 2 yr old head. She was lost her grip and spilled the tray of orange juice over his head and onto my shoulder and back. more

My wife and I went there for dinner we waited for ever to get our meal and could not eat all we were served, we are small eaters so we asked to take home what they served us (no extra food was orderd) no take home allowed. Not that great eather. Funny thing is you can get the same meal as take out go figure? Cons: price, service & public relations more
